If your child is not at school in the near future, we all want to ensure that learning continues where possible. The school will therefore provide some paper based materials but to help beyond this, we have put together some advice and useful websites. We have attached the spelling lists for the year groups 1-5.
On behalf of the Governors, the staff, the pupils and ourselves it gives us great pleasure to welcome you to our website. We hope that it will be informative and also give you a flavour of our school community, values and ethos. Our school has a friendly learning environment, created by a hard-working staff team, a supportive governing body, enthusiastic parents and inquisitive children.
Our governors are representatives of the parents, school staff and the local community. They meet together at least once each term and in smaller sub-committees. They have responsibility for overseeing the organisation, curriculum and budget of the school. The day-to-day running of the school is entrusted to the Headteacher and staff.
Plan, organise and promote fundraising events. Represent pupil voice. Help the governors to make decisions on behalf of the pupils. Meet regularly to feedback to the senior leadership team and governors about key decisions. Help to observe lessons and feedback to teachers. Help lunchtime supervisors to make sure values are upheld and lunchtimes have a positive environment.
All young people should have the opportunity to live healthy and active lives. A positive experience of sport and physical activity at a young age can build a lifetime habit of participation, and is central to meeting the government's ambitions for a world-class education system.
Physical activity has numerous benefits for children and young people's physical health, as well as their mental wellbeing (increasing self-esteem and emotional wellbeing and lowering anxiety and depression), and children who are physically active are happier, more resilient and more trusting of their peers.
