Welcome to Lodge Primary School, a vibrant mainstream school in West Bromwich. We believe that every child has the right to an excellent start in life, and we work closely with our families and our community to achieve this for our children. At Lodge, we provide our children with varied, rich experiences that we hope will remain with them for the rest of their lives.
We aim to create an environment where all of our children will be happy, grow in self confidence, thrive academically and socially, and make the most of the opportunities that school and life have to offer. We hope that you enjoy finding out about us on our website. There are also people at school who are happy to help, so please do pop in for a chat or get in touch with us to arrange a visit.

Services
The Department for Education (DFE) have introduced new regulations that will make Relationships and Health Education (RHE) compulsory in primary schools. To help parents/carers understand the changes and new curriculum, we have set up this webpage and relevant information and guidance. Please read through the information provided below and parent information video on RHE at Lodge Primary School.
To help you and your grown ups get ready for when you start nursery, there is lots of information here. We have made a virtual tour of our Nursery too so you can see your new classroom and our garden. All the information you need regarding Home Visits, Stay and Play sessions and your child's start date has been sent to you in a letter.
At Lodge, we have a bi-weekly reading cycle. During week 1, all children from years 1 - 6 are taught an explicit reading skill. Week 2 is our 'Mixed Skills' week. During week 2, all children from years 1- 6 have the opportunity to apply the various explicit reading skills they have learned across the academic year to comprehension activities.
We have been recognised as a Centre of Excellence for implementing the PFEG (Personal Finance Education Group) curriculum. This provides our children with a broad and real experience of personal finance through a range of enterprising projects. At Lodge we believe it is vital that our children develop a good understanding of finance in order to help them plan and manage a range of financial circumstances as they grow older.
At Lodge, we encourage our pupils to share and value others because of their uniqueness, whilst celebrating and appreciating difference in our school community. Our children are encouraged to be active, responsible thinkers who care about each other and all members of our society. Through our curriculum, they are encouraged to take ownership of their learning and be active, fully engaged children with a lifelong love of learning.
