We understand that outside things are changing. However, our colleagues in hospitals and GP practices are still wearing their facemasks to protect you. We require you to continue to wear your mask while in our hospitals and gp practices too. This App is designed to give patients advice on CPR but also provides details of the nearest defibrillator in the area.

Part of the reason for this is that many face-to-face appointments are used for problems that could be better dealt with over the telephone. Similarly, patients who just want to discuss something over the telephone have to queue up for a face to face appointment because they have difficulty getting a telephone consultation.
Services
Dr Taylor specialises in mental health and prescribing and is our Commissioning lead and Primary Care Network (PCN) support. The Practice Business Manager, Nick Giles, works with all clinical and administrative staff to ensure the smooth running of the practice. Each member of staff has a role in organising the administration of the surgery and maintains a quality of service to patients currently registered at Beechwood Medical Centre.
Patients can have face-to-face or telephone contact with reception staff from 8.00am to 6.30pm Monday to Friday. Please avoid phoning the surgery in the morning unless it is urgent as the surgery and the telephone lines can be very busy. We operate extended hours on a Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evening for those patients who work and are unable to have an appointment during normal hours.
Patients wanting to arrange their first appointment need to call 01422 261351 and 01422 261331 for subsequent appointments. Our ANP and AP are qualified to diagnose illness and prescribe medication and do most things that a GP will do. They see patients at the surgery for diabetes, asthma, COPD and child health development, dressings and holiday and flu injections.
Patients that live outside of these areas CAN still register with us but they will not receive any home visits from Beechwood Medical Centre should they need one. If a patient needs a home visit and lives outside of our practice area they will receive a visit from an alternative GP practice closer to where they live.
Please note that if you are a registered patient of Beechwood Medical Centre then SOME of the Travel Vaccinations are available on the NHS. If you are a private patient then this service is chargeable. As always, please check with the Travel Nurse as not all vaccinations may be free to the patient.

The absolute worst surgery I have been to and will be changing shortly. The receptionists are so rude, especially the one called Angela who constantly speaks over you. They also think they are doctors and try to advise and diagnose. They told me I didnt need to see a doctor about my ongoing abdominal pain as it just sounded like a pulled muscle and to take pain relief! I am a nurse so I wouldn't be calling for a doctors appointment if I didn't think it was necessary! It takes 2 weeks to get an appointment just for a blood test and then a further 2-3 weeks to get an appointment to discuss the results

Receptionist was lovely as was the nice lady who took my blood for tests a week ago
The fact that despite calling A couple of times at around 08:02, I still haven't been able to arrange a phone appointment to discuss my tests is ridiculous though
I get that things aren't quite back to normal and I'm assuming my liver and kidneys aren't about to fail but a little confirmation would be quite nice

Well what do I say, you cannot get to see a doc, if your lucky you may get to see a nurse, border control on the reception who screeches at you to wear a mask when she’s got hers around her chin, or the kid they have in there will say she’s ok because she’s behind the screen, no your not love, cannot have one rule for one and another rule for the patient. The nurses are ok depends on who you get, the others do not know patient care as they are robots I think?!. I understand they may be stressed but a bit of compassion goes along way for the nervous patient!!!

The receptionist (Mandy) is the rudest person I have ever come across. I rang up with a concern and she just fobbed me off and scoffed at me when I tried to express my concerns. She failed to address my issues and I had to seek medical advice elsewhere (at my own cost). She is absolutely the last person you would want to speak to, especially when you're in a lot of pain as I was.
Luckily, the nurse was very nice and that redeemed it.

I hate ringing and getting her on phone because she just pure nasty and the rudest person i have ever met. She doesn't let you speak and constantly interrupt you when you do get to speak. I dont even know how she can be a receptionist! Awful woman!!

Have been served at this medical centre once.
The nurses have been professional and to the point. I'm not a regular here, so can't go in depth. But my experience has been positive.

My dad was misdiagnosed turned out he had cancer none of the doctors wanted to know even after begging them to listen for over a year absolute disgrace. It's like the faulty towers of doctors surgeries. You need a password to order your prescription over the phone turns out it's your date of birth, what's the point. The secretaries are rude and like is being said they think they are doctors but in actual fact know nothing not even how to do their own job correctly.
Only thing I can say positive is that there are one or two decent nurses. How are they getting away with this kind of treatment. Will

Worse medical practice I've ever come across. If you ever manage to get an appointment to see a doctor/nurse, after the receptionist has already diagnos and advised you of course, then you are more than likely waiting 6-8weeks to be seen. Advance nurse practitioner Watson has a terrible attitude and a disregard towards people. This being said Dr.King and Dr.Don are very good, just a shame it's so hard to be seen. Currently looking for a new medical center to register at.

This is by far the worst practice I’ve ever been with. I have been a patient for 5 years and every year it gets worse. The reception staff are rude and believe they are doctors with the information they ask. To get an appointment that isn’t 3 weeks away is near impossible, the only good doctor I was seen by was temporary. The waiting room is like an audition centre for Jeremy Kyle. 1 star is too much but it’s the minimum accepted. I would avoid.
