Recent anti-GP articles by former bankrupt and anti-vaxxer Alison Pearson in the Daily Telegraph, have been challenged by the Doctors. A supplier to the NHS has advised us of a global shortage of some equipment used for taking blood tests. Anyone who needs a test. This website has been designed to tell you about the practice and the services that we offer.

Services
For emergencies that cannot wait until the surgery is open, please telephone 111 and your call will be put through to the out-of-hours service. Please remember that this service is there only to provide urgent medical attention. If the service is abused by calling the doctor for minor illnesses then other patients could be put at risk.
Idle Medical Centre is a Training Practice. Doctors who have acquired experience through work in hospitals and who are hoping to enter family practice, spend time with us in order to gain experience in the sort of problems encountered in general practice. As a training practice your medical records may be used for educational purposes and, because of this, we will ask you to sign a consent form when you register.
Additional InformationThese clinics are led by the Wrose team of midwives. If you become pregnant, you will be asked to "book in" at the lower ground floor reception. You will be seen regularly during your pregnancy, either at the surgery or at the local hospital or both. This is to monitor your progress and to discuss any problems or anxieties you may have.
Online appointments can be booked quickly and easily wherever you are, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Please bring with you an approved form of identification (Passport, Photocard Driving License or Birth Certificate). Our Receptionists will then be able to register you and give you your login details.

I think the prescription request on the phone which has been cancelled is a daft idea. Now I have to go in person which is a "risk" and order is face to face. What difference does it actually make whether I do it on the phone or in person? ITS THE SAME THING. Its not like I have to take ID. it's really daft thinking. More risk for nothing. I could stand in front of the person at reception, ring them and they would say no, I'd put the phone down and then just order it face to face, i might aswell have ordered it over the phone it doesnt make a difference. I dont have internet so now I'm having to

I feel like with the doctors its more about how quickly can they get patients in and onto the next one. I have had only 1 doctor over the past 10 years that i felt spent some time to get to know the issues im having and help me resolve them. I hate calling this practice and asking for help. Would rather suffer on my own

Another disgusting, unethical episode from idle medical. Requested doctors letter 9am. Left work to pick it up.. wrong letter. Their mistake. Told I’ll get a call back to sort before closing. Call back came 1 minute before clinic closes and rings once and hangs up. One minute before closing ???!?? One ring?!?!?!!! Absolute disgrace whichever doctor was on calls today you should give it up if you treat the people that pay your wage by doing their jobs professionally in this way!

The Doctors are great - when you get to see one. Receptionists are shameful; lazy and often incompetent, not just in booking appointments but other aspects of the job too.
I submitted a short but highly important form to be completed by a Doctor and was told it would take up to 4 weeks to complete and would cost me £25. 5 weeks later I had to call twice to find out if it had been done and was eventually told it was ready for collection. When I collected it, the date the Doctor had signed was a day after I submitted it!
Admin reliability leaves much to be desired - an observation which a couple
