We hope the following information gives you a good picture of our lovely school, our values and our vision. Our children are at the heart of our school, which is a loving and supportive place to learn. We are a Catholic school but we are also an integral part of our whole community and fully reflect the cultural makeup of families in our area.

Families with no faith or of other faiths are warmly welcomed and make up a significant number of our school family. We aim for every child to achieve their very best as they grow with us while developing strong relationships, strong values and a love of learning. We are proud of our children who work hard, have fun, respect and care for one another and achieve high standards.

At St Cuthberts our intent is that our teaching of History will help pupils gain a coherent knowledge and understanding of Britain's past and that of the wider world. We aim for it to inspire pupil's curiosity about the past and to know more about the past. We aim to enable children to ask perceptive questions, think critically, weigh evidence, sift arguments, and develop perspective and judgement.
All six (100%) of our Year 2 children (those who did not pass in Year 1) passed their Phonics re-test. Both (100%) of our Year 2 children (those who did not pass in Year 1) passed their Phonics re-test. Three out of four (75%) of our Year 2 children (those who did not pass in Year 1) passed their Phonics re-test.
What is Pupil Premium Funding? Pupil Premium is additional funding given to publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils to try to ensure they attain as well as and make as much progress as their peers. How the funding is allocated?

It is paid to schools according to the number of pupils who have been: registered as eligible for free school meals at any point in the past six years or been in care for six months or longer. The challenges faced by eligible pupils are wide-ranging, their attainment on entry varies and the school takes account of each child's entry point and ensures they are well supported to achieve their potential.
At St Cuthbert's RC Primary School we believe that each person is 'unique, talented and loved by God. As part of our school's aims to promote a happy and successful school, we have achieved recognition as a "Rights Respecting School". This is an award which is given to schools on behalf of UNICEF. UNICEF is the world's leading organisation working for children and their rights.
At St Cuthbert's RC Primary School we are committed to Safeguarding and promoting the well-being of all children. We expect our staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Keeping children safe at school is of paramount importance to us.

It underpins every decision we make on a day to day basis and takes many forms including the recruitment of new staff, risk assessments for trips, health care plans for children, site security, regular child protection training, e-safety lessons for children and staff with accredited first aid and medications training.

What a fantastic school. The school achieves exactly the right blend of learning, educational topics, discipline, interest, sport and fun. A fantastic springboard to launch our children into onward education and life! This school has positively affected my children's formative years beyond that which any other school could have. This strong ethos is interwoven through all staff, from the Head Teacher down. So much effort goes into not only the day to day teaching, but also into performances, events, and outdoor trips. Both of our children have loved their time at St Cuthbert's. Thank you so much
