Welcome to Stead Lane Primary School where 'pupils benefit from a curriculum that captures their interest; develop excellent citizenship skills and are keen to take on responsibilities. They are extremely proud of the school and describe it as the best there is.' Ofsted 2018. As Headteacher of this vibrant school I feel proud and privileged to work in partnership with the pupils and families of the Bedlington community.
I am fortunate to be supported by an outstanding staff who work tirelessly to provide the best education for all our pupils. We will endeavour to continue to take the school from strength to strength. Our PE kit consists of plain royal blue or dark shorts, plain royal blue or white round neck t-shirt & black sandshoes.

Services
The Pupil Premium Grant that is received by schools annually is allocated based on the number of children who have been eligible for free school meals at any point in the last 6 years, the number of children who are looked after/have been adopted from care/have left care under a Special Guardianship or Residence Order and the number of Service children.
The role of the Governors is very wide and covers all aspects of school life. To enable us to manage all this effectively we all have different areas of interest/responsibility, so each governor will generally arrange monitoring visits or other activities to look into their area of responsibility and produce a report for the rest of the governors.
There will be no P.E. next Thursday for Years 1 & 2. On Friday only Year 3 & Year 6 will have a P.E. This half term KS1 and KS2 have begun working with Robbie from the Newcastle United Foundation. They have enjoyed lessons on multiskills, fundamental movement, team games and football skills. Years 4 and 5 have also taken part in Match Fit and United as One.
Learning to read is the most important thing your child will learn at our school. Everything else depends on it, so we put as much energy as we possibly can into making sure that every single child learns to read as quickly as possible. We want your child to love reading - and to want to read for themselves.
At Stead Lane Primary School we promote 'British Values' through our spiritual, moral, social and cultural education which permeates through the school's curriculum and supports the development of the 'whole child'. We recognise that such development is most successful when those values and attitudes are promoted by all the staff who provide a model of behaviour for our pupils.
