In our school we acknowledge that History covers all aspects of societies in the past: music, art, architecture, science, sport, literature, mathematics and technology, and so makes natural links with other subjects through our cross-curricular themes.
We encourage the children to develop their enquiry skills by making deductions and inferences from a range of primary and secondary sources, listening to the views of others and reacting with tolerance, and understanding that there are different versions of the past and that these change over time.

Choosing the right school for your child is such an important decision. If you are considering our school for your child then please do contact us and we will try to arrange a visit for you and your child. Meanwhile, have a look at our website and hopefully that will give you a sense of what our school is about; enabling you to determine if we are the right school for your child.
I am the parish priest in Mitcheldean and Abenhall and am an exofficio foundation governor. I am Jan Ray and am delighted to have been a Foundation governor for Mitcheldean Primary for the past 4 years. During that time I have been the chair of the Resources Committee and assisted with many school projects.
Our Breakfast Club runs everyday during term time from 8am in the morning and is available to all year groups across the school. The cost per child for each session is 3.50 and a discount is available if you qualify for Pupil Premium funding. Breakfast Club provides a great start to your child's day at school, with a good healthy breakfast along with time to socialise and play with friends before the school day begins.
Try to make sure there is a good start for your child by ensuring that they have everything they need before they leave home - PE kit, musical instrument, lunch box, homework etc. We have a soft start at our school so that children can come into school from 8:40 and have time to get themselves ready for the day before the register is taken and the school day starts.
At Mitcheldean Endowed Primary we value the abilities and achievement of all our pupils. We also value the contribution that every child can make and welcome the diversity of culture, religion and learning style. We aim to make sure that each child's needs are addressed and they are supported in their environment and their learning.
