Situated in Cley-next-the-sea, the three Swallows is a traditionally themed pub offering great quality locally sourced food that is all cooked and prepared fresh on site. The pub is ideally located for those looking to visit Norfolk at any time of year be it for holiday or even a spot of twitching.
We have a separate drinking lounge and dining area although food is available and served throughout. We also have en-suite detached accommodation for those looking to set roots whilst exploring this beautiful part of the Norfolk coastline. Overlooking the picturesque green, this pub is full of character, featuring two blazing fires, during the cold winter months.

I do prefer to take care of what I eat, and I do not eat meat, therefore I'd always check the menu before going somewhere. Which in this case sadly didn't save me from an awful experience.
Most of the available options are either deep fried or contain meat, so it was always going to be a bit difficult. But I figured lobster of fish platter would be a good choice. Well, it was out of stock, so I will never be able to tell how it was, but judging by the quality of my vegetarian lasagne, I think in that place they'd manage to sink anything in fat.
Said lasagne was mostly cheese, and contained three

Tried to eat and drink here early evening, told they were fully booked. It was 5 o'clock, place was empty. Staff I'm sure could have accommodated us but no, we were turned away (4 adults 2 children) Surely after the terrible times for publicans during pandemic, they would have welcomed us with open arms. Sad!

Hidden Gem!!
We have just spent two nights at the The Three Swallows in Cley. We arrived early evening on Friday after a 3 hour drive, Sue was there to provide a warm and friendly welcome. We were a bit worried about getting food but not a problem as residents get priority in the restaurant (more about the food later). We were shown to our room in the courtyard, which was clean and had everything you’d want (even biscuits). The room we had is not the biggest, but other than to sleep and have an ensuite what more do you need from a room. We had evening meal twice at the pub and both times the
