Heywood Veterinary Centre
Welcome to Heywood Veterinary Centre, an established part of the Heywood community that provides high-quality care to thousands of pets every year. We offer trusted veterinary services in the Lancashire and Greater Manchester area for pets, including cats, dogs and rabbits. We also have a Vet who has a specialist interest in exotic pets and is working towards her gaining a Certificate in this area.

This means we are able to provide care to more unusual pets, such as birds, reptiles, ferrets and other small mammals. Our team of dedicated and highly-skilled vets and nurses know your pet is a cherished part of your family and just how much they mean to you; that's the reason why we try to make you and your pet feel at home every time you visit us.
Services
Our Veterinary practice was established in 1996 on Market Street in Heywood and has been caring for the community for over 30 years. As our team, equipment and services began to expand, we quickly found that we had outgrown our old building and we needed to move to larger premises.

We opened our doors at 100 Bridge Street in 2005 where we now welcome and care for thousands of pets, from Heywood, Rochdale, Oldham, Bury, Middleton and the surrounding area every year and we love what we do.
Currently, Rachel is on Maternity leave. Claire graduated from the University of Bristol in 2015 and since then has had a great passion for Exotic Animal Medicine and Surgery. Claire is currently working towards doing certificates for exotics to further her knowledge for this species, as well as having an interest in Canine Behaviour and Psychology.
At Heywood vets, we believe in investing in our; people, surgeries, facilities, equipment and latest technology so that we can provide outstanding veterinary care for our patients and their owners. We strongly believe that all our customers and their pets deserve the best possible care and that's the reason we are always keen to find excellent professionals to join our team.
Cats are independent, territorial animals that need to be in control of their surroundings and are sensitive to different smells. These things can make your visit to a vet clinic stressful. Here at Heywood Veterinary Group we always want to make your visit smooth and relaxed. Because of that, we're delighted to offer this new facility to our clients and their furry friends.
Many people want to take their pets with them on holiday and we can advise on getting a Passport. It is imperative that you abide by the rules to allow you to bring your pet back into the UK on your return from Europe without them going into lengthy quarantine. Your pet will need to be microchipped and vaccinated against rabies three weeks before the passport is valid.
