Briar Dawn
We are an award winning small animal practice in Shaw, Oldham. We are passionate about animal care and our skilled team of veterinary surgeons and nurses are dedicated to providing the highest quality care for your animals. Because we love animals and strive to provide excellent continuity of care, we are open six days a week and have access to 24-hour emergency care.

We also offer free parking for clients at the practice. To help keep us all safe, please do not attend the practice unless you have a pre-booked appointment, or have arranged to collect food/medication.
Services
Since then we've invested heavily in modernising the practice and equipment. As a result we have digital X-ray facilities and a powerful high resolution ultrasound machine. In 2016 we added dental X-ray with digital processing and upgraded our extensive range of laboratory equipment. We continue to invest on an ongoing basis.
Here at Briar Dawn Veterinary Centre, we're very proud to have so many enthusiastic and dedicated individuals working in our friendly practice. We are all passionate about animals and their well-being, from our veterinary surgeons and qualified nurses to our essential support staff. Highly trained and caring, each of us has a role to play in making this a special practice for you to visit with your pet.
Our team of highly dedicated and experienced veterinary surgeons and vet nurses are devoted to your pet's well-being. Your pets are always our priority. We all have our own pets and work hard to provide the same service to you that we would want for our own much-loved animals. At our surgery we provide continuity of care, working with you to provide effective and high quality treatment.
Many of our patients are receiving long term treatment and are eligible for 'repeat prescriptions'. Usually, we see these patients every three months, although for some conditions and often at the start of a new treatment, this may be more frequently. If your pet is due more of their usual medication, please contact us no less than 48-hours before you would like to collect this.
In the event of an emergency during our normal opening hours please call our surgery on 01706 840936 and you will be advised what to do next. If you require veterinary attention or advice during the night or at the weekend whilst our clinic is closed, please contact MiNightVet Manchester on 0161 794 4999.

I am a new client. My cat Louis was taken ill in December 2019. He was 14. I came to this practice nervous but every person I met was so kind and compassionate. The vets James and Rob were outstanding considering they had to give me heartbreaking news. Louis was put to sleep in January 2020. The worst day of my life. However James who had to do this was kind, thoughtful and generous with his time. I must have asked him over ten times if I was doing the right thing. He like every single member of staff treated me and Louis with real tenderness, even putting a,blanket on the table so Louis would

Top, friendly vets! Managed to squeeze my dog in for a last minute appointment when ill and within a few hours of treatment already on road to recovery! Love the discounts with the healthy pet club also!

Couldn't fault the staff. They were so kind and caring, dealing with a sad situation. Really touched to receive a bereavement card from them, and noticed other thoughtful touches too.

Many thanks to vet James Thomas for the kind, caring and professional service he provided to me and my very poorly "old girl" Candy.
Words cannot express how service like this can make a life threatening situation tolerable.

Briar Dawn has been my vet for a few years now and the staff are all so loving and caring. I recently had to put my dog to rest but I could not of gotten nicer vet or staff to be around. Upon picking up his ashes I didn't have to say a word at reception as they will remember who you are and love your pets too. They are professional yet so considerate as I balled my eyes out the receptionist gave me the biggest hug, which is just what I needed.

As I write this review I feel very emotional.

We have had the worst week of our lives since our dog Loui who means the world to us became critically ill after I gave him a bone which got stuck in his abdomen and chest. In just 6 days Jocelyn has performed 3 operations on him with the help of Jacqui who is a wonderful nurse. One to remove bones from his abdomen, life saving open chest surgery which she had never performed before and is usually done by a specialist surgeon and another life saving emergency operation as his organs had stuck together. The love and care that Jocelyn, Jacqui the nurse
