A delightful restaurant/ pub. With a heart warming log fire and so much history, great tasting food and ale. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, so friendly. We live only five minutes away, it'll soon be my local. Will return on a regular basis. Give this Wonderful establishment a visit, you will not be disappointed.

We love it here - we've stayed a few times over the past few years. The place has loads of character, consistently great food, and really lovely staff. Any complaints are minor and probably unfair ... e.g. it would be nice to have more seating in the snug by the fire, as that's the best place to be. And some of the rooms are better than others to stay in, one was fairly noisy. But overall, it's great and we look forward to returning.

Excellent meal last night at the Lion Inn. OH started with Ham Hock Terrine and I had cured meats, pesto and sourdough. The pesto tasted homemade and the sourdough was delicious. For mains, I had pork and fennel sausages, mustard mash and onion gravy. My OH had the confit duck leg. Both were really tasty - my only comment would be that for the price it would be nice if they came with some veg, rather than having to pay an extra £4 for a side. For dessert, I had the treacle tart which was advertised as coming with pouring cream but arrived with ice cream. I'd have preferred cream or for the tart

We had dinner at The Lion Inn on our last night of our holiday in Winchcombe. We hadn't booked, but they managed to squeeze us in. The food was delicious and the decor was very rustic with a warm homely touch, lovelyatmosphere. Very friendly staff and our waitress was lovely too. A perfect end, to a perfect holiday 👌

Lovely staff. We walked in soaking wet with our dog! They were so attentive offering us a towel to dry ourselves and then gave us the phone number of a taxi company to get us back to the campsite. The pot of tea was just what I needed to warm up and mu husband enjoyed his pint!! Thank you very much.
