We went out one sunday afternoon for a drive with my girlfriend and got lost and stumbled across the carpenters arms by chance and it was to our benefit as the choice of vegetarian meals was fabolous. This pub is a haven. Went for a mid week evening meal " off the cuff" type of visit. The bar/lounge areas were welcoming with open fires and locals filling the pub with cheer, children included.
This was our third trip to England, and our first venture outside of London. We were driving down the M5 and got bored so we just pulled off and tried to get lost on some back roads. We ended up here by sheer accident. When we saw the pub we were frankly not expecting much, but decided to choke down some food as we didn't know when we would find another place.

Had a great meal on New Years Eve. Staff were very patient and accommodating - food tasted great and everyone was pleased with their meal. Estrella poured very well and not a hint of line-cleaner taste which you sadly find all too often these days. And then we were given a free round of Port to wish us a Happy New Year which was the cherry on the top. The stars of the show were the two gents that helped the Gluten-Free member of our party choose a meal that would suit. Definitely will be coming back!

If I lived in a small village this would be the pub I would be happy to be involved with as part of the community.
We visit when they have a folk/blues evening. Its cosy, log fire in winter, or outside in summer. locals talking and chatting together. A real friendly atmosphere. Probably wouldn't appeal to youngsters wanting loud background music all night and pub games etc.
The food is excellent and good value.

We came for Sunday lunch on the 3rd October. I booked a couple of weeks ahead but was very disappointed that our table for two was very small and it was actually quite difficult for me to get seated in such a small place. I certainly wasn’t seated comfortably. The roast lunches were averagely good, portions not over-generous. The room was very cold. Our main grumble though was the presentation - or not - of the bill. We were simply told verbally what the total was, we had to ask to see the actual bill, which on inspection included a 10% service charge. We felt this was a bit dishonest. I quite

I hope this was just a bad day, 07/10/21.
Having visited perviously, just for a drink, in the covid alfresco busy beer garden, we thought the menu offered looked interesting, but for another time.
On our second visit my wife and I decided to try it out.
The first obstacle was finding a place to sit that wasn't a garden bench and table combo, which we find uncomfortable. Not that we were struggeling for space, on this occation we were the only ones there. Chosing a table, one of two with chairs, we then looked around and were appalled at the amount of dog mess laying around.

This was the quaintest little pub in the Cotswold's. We spent one night in Miserden and I our hosts recommended this pub - I am so glad that they did! The staff were friendly - and the food was delicious! I had the lamb burger. I loved everything about this quaint little village and pub! The house are beautiful! Definitely stop by this village and pub if you want an authentic, local experience!
