Services
We serve food seven days per week, lunch and dinner. Sunday roast is a real favourite with four choices of roast plus steaks, fish and vegetarian options. Families are always welcome and we provide half portions for children. Monday to Saturday lunchtimes we offer our main menu along with a Lunch Specials menu which includes a range of light dishes at only 8, as well as a selection of sandwiches.
Our Evening Takeaway now operates every Friday and Saturday from 6pm to 8.30pm and has a wide choice for all the family. So, if you fancy a Burger, but other members of the family would prefer Pizza, Fish and Chips or a Curry, then we've got it covered. Wednesday is Burger Night. Choose from 5 burgers starting at special price of just 8.50, then use your imagination to create your very own burger with a great choice of toppings.

Firstly the good things.... Food and service were first rate and at very reasonable prices. The person behind the bar couldn't have been more friendly! Only took 20 minutes for the food to arrive. The environment of the pub was very pleasant and also covid safe. What could be improved....? Well from today's experience, nothing really! Thank you for a lovely lunch.

One of the few pubs in Cheltenham which, in these COVID-blighted times, seems to respect 'normal' licensing hours and doesn't shut early just because they're a bit quiet. Always a good selection of 3 or 4 real ales. Very professional staff who seem to actually enjoy working together and dealing with customers. It's December and they have made the place feel really welcoming and cosy without overdoing the XMAS - subtle light strings and tasteful swags do the job very nicely.

Had a great experience during our first visit. It's quite a big pun, with outside seating and beer garden in addition to a large indoor are. The staff were friendly and efficient. The food was good value and tasted great. Whilst there was no kids menu, there were a number of options available for smaller versions of adult dishes. Would definitely return.

We dined there yesterday. The service was excellent but the food average to poor: my burger was delicious but badly spoilt by the stale bun which my knife failed to penetrate,my wife's curry was a dump of meat and rice,quite tasty but spoilt by the quantity. We shared a waffle for dessert, it was cold and stodgy and probably bought in. This is unlike previous experiences but we will hesitate about going again.

Been a while since my wife and i have been here usually for a meal and this Sunday arranged with friends to meet there for some lunch. As usual service was spot on and the grub first class. Lots of staff around if you needed anything and all very willing to help....what more do you want for a Sunday lunch? We will be back and can recommend to all.

I had the pleasure of attending the Royal pub for a lunch last Sunday, and was so impressed by the superior service, and the amazing roast dinner we enjoyed. All of my guests have all said that they would recommend and will be back with their friends. It is a gem in Cheltenham, a secret indulgence, it’s a must if you visit Cheltenham.
The service was second to none, the food we pre-ordered was delivered exactly to our taste, using our names (which was impressive considering 2 of us had Irish names nobody can pronounce, they did). Most of us are international, and even the locals were blown away

We wanted a mid week coffee+lunch venue for family gathering at short notice and this was ideal. The staff couldn't have been nicer. Atmosphere & furnishings were great. Food was between pub and restaurant quality at a sensible price. We appreciated being able to linger at the table and chat. Would recommend.

Went for lunch which was fine, the Sunday roast portions were good but some of the party had other meals which had much smaller portions. Dessert was good. The service was alright, the staff keep changing and… it might have avoided a mistake if the same staff took and bought orders. There was a mistake, we asked for more drinks one was the same the second drink was different and we mistakenly named the wrong brewery when asking for a certain lager. Instead we got our original drink order again. When we queried this, the error about the brewery name became apparent however staff claimed we
