Services
It is important to let us know if your child is absent due to an illness/infection/injury. Sickness and diarrhoea- 48 hours must have lapsed since the last attack before your child returns. Head Injury- We also ask that your child does not attend pre-school if they have had a head injury in last 48 hrs if doctors or hospital treatment was necessary.
We are open 38 weeks of the year and term dates are generally in line with those of Addingham Primary School. Children are placed in their academic year groups and usually commence with a minimum of 2 afternoon sessions progressing to 3 or 4 afternoon sessions as required/available. The year prior to starting school, they will move to morning sessions and will be offered up to 5 sessions.
Within the group, all children are supported in developing their potential at their own pace. Observations and records of every child's achievements are kept and are shared with parents. These enable us to incorperate individual needs into our curriculum planning. Our planning is open-ended and is based on individual children's needs and interests.
Each child is allocated a key person amongst the pre-school staff. They will collate and keep a record of each child's progress through pre-school to help celebrate their achievements and to work together with parents to identify what steps are required to further advance each child's education. Throughout each child's time at pre-school photographs are taken and work and information gathered to mark their journey through pre-school.
With Early Years Mark Making a very real issue, we have decided to put together an information pack to help guide you and your child through the processes they may encounter whilst with us at Addingham Preschool Playgroup. We have worked very closely with the staff in Class Reception and feel that you will benefit from the information enclosed in this document.
