Menston Pre School
Menston Preschool is a non-profit making, committee led preschool. With a strong focus on learning through play, we are passionate about providing high quality care and education in a safe, secure and stimulating environment. We work in partnership with parents/carers and have strong links with local primary schools and the local community. Menston Preschool is a registered charity and a member of the Early Years Alliance.
Services
Menston Preschool is situated in the heart of the village in a fantastic, open plan, purpose-built setting that was previously the home of the Children's Centre. In 2020 we celebrated our 50th birthday! We are very fortunate to have great outside facilities in the form of a covered decking area and further large outside space.
Menston Preschool celebrates diversity, and all children are welcome and included. Admissions are not operated on a first come, first served basis but on a fairer system, which gives all children an opportunity to experience what our wonderful Preschool has to offer. Although families living in and around Menston are given priority on places, children living outside Menston are also able to attend if there is sufficient space.
On arrival at Preschool children hang up coats in the cloakroom and change into their indoor shoes/pumps. Children will have their own labelled peg and a pump bag is provided for each child. Peg, pump bags and name cards all have your child's special picture printed on it as well as their name! Any toys brought from home can be put in to the "Going Home Box".
We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum (EYFS) to ensure children are provided with the essential skills and knowledge they need for their overall development. The children have opportunities to develop resilience, explore relationships, and to learn to resolve conflicts, negotiate and regulate their behaviours.
Menston Preschool is registered to receive the Government's Early Education Funding. This is provided by Bradford Council and consists of the 15 hours 'Universal Entitlement' and up to 30 hours 'Extended Entitlement. Under the current scheme all 3 and 4 year olds are eligible to receive 15 hours funded childcare a week.

Report
Great preschool, both our boys loved their time and showed amazing development in preparation for primary school.
The staff were all very caring and knew the children & families so well, it was an important part of feeling welcomed to the village.
