Services
We are based in the rural setting of Nettlebed Village, adjacent to the Primary School, enjoying access to beautiful outdoor recreational areas. Our children enjoy varied play experiences, with access to a beautiful walled garden, an all-weather sports pitch and a fully equipped playground. We offer a wide range of activities including weekly Forest School and PE sessions lead by specialised external providers.
Laura brings a wealth of experience to Happy Days, having worked in childcare since completing her degree in Childhood Studies. She loves working with children and watching them discover and learn about the world around them, especially through messy play activities! Also a mother of two, her understanding of children's fertile minds, imagination and thrill of new things is second too none.
Each morning three tables are set up: one with creative activities; one with maths/science activities and another with messy play. Children are invited to choose a further activity to put on the carpet. In addition, children are able to free play within the preschool environment.

Our afternoon session comprises much more free play, still using our table top and children's choice activities and giving children full access to the preschool facilities.Keeping our afternoons flexible also allows us to arrange local outings in and around the village. This is circle time in which children all sit together to enjoy a story and group singing.
As an OFSTED registered setting we are in receipt of Nursery Education Funding for three and four year olds. Children are entitled to 15 hours of funding for 38 weeks of the year, from the term following their 3rd Birthday until they start school. Other funding is available depending on your familys circumstances, ie some children will be eligible to 30 hours of funding.
Tapestry is a secure online Learning Journal to record photos, observations and comments, in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum, to build up a record of your child's experiences during their time with us. This system allows us to work with parents and carers to share information and record the children's play and learning in and outside of the classroom.
