We are a team of health care professionals committed to providing a high quality of care which is sensitive to the needs of our patients. Our aim is not only to help when you are ill, but also to keep you healthy. Our surgeries are modern, computerised and well equipped with good facilities for the disabled including car parking, wheelchair access and toilet provision.

We offer surgeries every week day with a range of specialist skills as well as general medicine. This is a group practice which means you can see any of the doctors. If Dore patients are unable to get an appointment, they may be able to be get an appointment at the main surgery at Carterknowle depending on demand.
Services
Our appointment system involves many different members of our team across a variety of appointment types. You may be managed by a GP, Physician Associate, Nurse Practitioner, Nurse or Physiotherapist. We are able to carry out appointments in a variety of ways including by phone, in person, or by video.
Dialling your normal GP surgery number will result in you being put straight through to this service when the surgery is closed. This service now runs from the Northern General Hospital and provided appointments, advice and if necessary GP visits. NHS 111 is a service that makes it easier for you to access local NHS healthcare services.
For some years NHS Sheffield Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) has worked with Carterknowle & Dore Medical Practice to provide a Prescription Order Line telephone service for ordering repeat medication. This service was set up as a test service and has only been available to a few volunteer Sheffield general practices, including Carterknowle & Dore Medical Practice and their patients.
The Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) is an NHS service. It gives you the chance to change how your GP sends your prescription to the place you choose to get your medicines or appliances from. If you collect your repeat prescriptions from your GP you will not have to visit your GP practice to pick up your paper prescription.
Your medical information is held on an electronic record and each time you see a doctor or nurse at the practice information is added. From time to time it may be necessary for you to see clinical staff in other NHS settings for example District nurses, physiotherapists, hospital specialists or even in an emergency, doctors in A&E.
