Services
At present guests are unable to join us at Bampfield during this special time of the year. So we are sending our activities to you as all the baby calves are being born. Farmer Neil and Josh have had 80 new mums and calves to care for. So far we have 30 dairy heifers, these will be reared and join the herd in 2 years time.
The Old Granary has its own unique character, retaining many exposed beams, originally the corn was stored and ground here. This lovely cottage is spacious and furnished to a high standard to ensure your comfort. This property has four bedrooms and sleeps 2-8 people. There is central heating throughout the cottage.
This charming cottage was originally built in the 17th century and we have retained many of its original features, with oak lintels and wooden beams. In days gone by the cows were milked in the double room and the milk bottled in the dairy which has now become the bunk bed room. The Haven has an open plan design with oak fitted kitchen and spacious lounge with a central fireplace and wood-burner.
Nowadays the milk at Bampfield Farm is collected by the milk tanker and bought by the Arla co-operative and bottled or made into cheese. The cows graze the fields from spring to late autumn and in the winter they are put into sheds and fed silage. One of the attractions is to see the cows being milked and from February to April the cows produce calves, this is always a busy and special time.
Set in the heart of North Devon, Bampfield Farm provides a great base for exploring this beautiful part of the country. We may be biased, but we think we think North Devon offers a unique mix of culture, world-class food and award-winning beaches. Where else in the world can you dine out at a Michelin starred restaurant, view world-class sculpture and take a dip in the sea at a blue-flag sandy beach - all in the same day?

My family and I recently stayed at Bampfield and had the most fantastic week ever.
There is so much to do for both little ones and adults, starting from collecting the eggs in the morning, to pony riding, playing outside or in the playroom and sitting by the fire pit in the evening.
It’s a short drive to Barnstaple and surrounding areas. We will definitely stay again!

Loved a nice relaxing holiday break here. Accommodation was wonderful and scones to die for. What lovely hosts Lynda and Neal are, great find, and lots of fun to be had. Little jobs for little ones to involve them on the farm and plenty of lovely toys and interaction. A great base also and not far from lots of great destinations. Would definitely recommend and hope to return soon.

We were fortunate to get away at the start of May! What a welcome - a Devon tea and everything we could ask for in our extended family bubble. Lynda and Neil were great and the cottage so well equipped. Our grandchildren enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and experienced farm animals first hand. The play area was a bonus and as adults the fire in the evening proved a central focus. Additional amenities all within 30 minutes drive time. Highly recommended for family groups.

Wonderful, relaxing week. Well spec'd cottage but so much more. Warm and comfortable on a wild and very wet week, lovely location away from it all yet handy enough to explore some of North Devon. And the extras that show so much care: friendly hosts, free ranging chickens and their eggs, delicious cream tea on arrival and even gorgeous farm cats.

The fact that Bampfield Farm has received only 5 star reviews should have spoken for itself in advance but we were wonderfully surprised with everything. Lynda and Neil were incredibly generous hosts going above and beyond in everything - in particular the tour of the dairy (for my me) and the goat and chicken feeding each morning (for my son). We had a simply brilliant time from start to finish.
