Services
A real home from home with ample places to sit outside and just listen to the birdsong. Take a dip in our outdoor heated swimming pool, a book into the gardens surrounding the cottages, wander through our ancient woodland, watch a DVD, get involved and help us feed the chickens and sheep. Watch the lambs play or just unwind in our rural haven here in North Devon.
The Roundhouse is perfect for couples, couples with a young child in a cot or can be used as an annex to The Threshing Barn or other cottages for extended families on holiday. All the self catering accommodation is on the ground floor. This cottage is called the Roundhouse because it used to house the turntable that the horses powered to drive the machinery in the adjacent barns.
The Threshing Barn is converted from part of the farm's original threshing barn. It has a comfortable lounge/dining area with a solid oak floor and a large bay window which makes a feature of the original cart entrance. The lounge/dining area has a wood burning stove, 32 Flatscreen LCD Digital TV with Freeview, Video, DVD player and mini Hi-Fi.
Changeover for this cottage is on Saturday For Easter, May Half Term and October Half Term Holidays. During June, July, August and September changeover is on Monday. The Annex is part of the original 16th Century Farmhouse which used to house the animals before the rest of the barns were built in the 18th Century.
A comfortable holiday cottage converted from the old Linhay and stable with exposed beams in the sitting room and its own courtyard garden nearby. Entry through the cottage porch takes you into a hall area adjacent to the kitchen. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, electric hob & built in oven, microwave, fridge freezer and a washer drying machine to keep up with your laundry while you are on holiday.

We stayed here for a week in one of the cottages. Graham was an amazing host. Our kids loved feeding the pigs with him morning and afternoons for the entire duration. The accommodation was very clean and very homely. There are many things for the family to do on and around the farm. This is the perfect place if you are looking to spend some time our doors and simply disconnect. We will be coming back again.

Fantastic farm with 6 holiday cottages of various sizes. We stayed in the one bedroom cottage which was adequate for our needs. The owner, Graeme, did a "feeding the animals" session twice a day for the children. It was like watching the Pied Piper leading the children and some parents up the hill.
The swimming pool has a permanent roof over which means that there is no side to jump off.....much safer for the children. There is a sliding door for access and steps down into the shallow end. We had it to ourselves when we used it.
The games room is well stocked with table tennis lots of games,

Just had a wonderful half term break at Lower Hearson Farm. Graeme and Marilyn our hosts are some of the loveliest people you're likely to meet. They were so friendly, helpful and welcoming. Our accommodation was wonderfully warm in freezing conditions with a fantastic log burner and home made cakes to welcome us. The kids loved the games room, the freedom to roam the grounds and nothing quite beats waking up to feed (and cuddle) the chickens and pigs. Beautiful beaches, woodland waterfall walks and the wilds of Exmoor all on your doorstep with Graeme and Marilyn offering helpful tips and advice

Very warm welcome from Farmer Graeme and my 4 year old daughter loved feeding the animals every morning. Very tranquil considering the cottages were nearly full, but still close to great beaches and things to do for the kids. The cottages were a little out dated but fantastically clean and great value for money, we would definitely book again.

We have recently returned from our our 4th visit to this lovely farm and have just booked again for Easter 2018. Farmer Graeme is a wonderful host and always welcoming. Accommodation is excellent, a real home from home with all the equipment and facilities you could need. It's an excellent place for the kids, play equipment, pool, games room and of course all the animals that they get to help feed twice a day. We missed the piglets this year but are hopeful for next year Graeme! Can't wait to go back. Highly recommended.

Lovely and secluded (so quiet!), the last few lanes to get here are not for the faint hearted (take note of passing places) but surprisingly close to Barnstaple and other towns for shopping and fuel. Children's play area, trampoline and animals to pet/feed. WiFi was available in our cottage, so I would imagine it's in all the accommodation.
