Situated on the A340 just outside Basingstoke in Pamber End, The Queen's College arms simply oozes traditional character and charm. Originally leased by Hall & Woodhouse from Queen's College Oxford in 1965, the pub is now a thriving pub restaurant serving the local communities in and around Basingstoke and Reading.
Indeed Tim Berners-Lee, former Queen's College student and inventor of the World Wide Web, says his favourite pint is our very own Tangle Foot. The pub boasts an impressive, traditional, wood panelled dining room offering table service, together with more informal dining areas and a comfy bar, for those guests with less time on their hands.

Services
We've been working hard over the past few months to make sure all of our delicious food dishes are just that little bit better. As well as our usual favourites like Steak & Tangle Foot Pie, Hand-Battered Fish & Chips and our famous H&W Burger, we've also got a range of tasty sandwiches and of course our delicious Sunday Roasts, which we think are the best (apart from Mum's!).
We've sorted an amazing range of drinks for you to enjoy either with a meal or simply on their own. Our very own range of Badger Beers are only sold in Hall & Woodhouse pubs, so we can guarantee the very best quality cask and bottled ales brewed right in the heart of the Dorset countryside.
Alongside our beers we also have a comprehensive selection of lagers and ciders, together with an extensive wine list, with wines from all around the World and an ever increasing range of spirits, particularly local and regional gins.

One of the key attributes of the perfect English Country pub is that it is at the heart of its local community. That's why we believe it's so important to give something back and detailed below are just a couple of things we are doing locally to help out in some small way. Community is incredibly important to us and as part of this, we help to fundraise for a local charity.

I am writing on google as I posted on their Facebook page on the 4th December and they haven’t published it!
We went here last night for a birthday and I can honestly say I have never complained when I’ve been out before!!
Where do I start? We orders 4 chicken burgers , a tiger prawn spag, a kids cheese/bacon burg, a kids Goujons and a steak and tanglefoot pie plus extras. This came to over £100. There was a big party sat near us who was always waiting for there food and food came out. The food that was meant to be ours was sent to their table and placed down as we obviously order the same

Lovely pub and great food.
Only downside went at lunchtime and the toilets obviously had not been cleaned at the start of the day. In the ladies, one was blocked by 1pm and the other 2 looked quite dirty. Surely at the moment it is important to keep things clean and it was not like it was the end of the day as the pub had only been opened an hour. please clean your toilets as it was the only let down.

3 adults, we'd booked a table for Sunday lunch, 1.30 pm
Myself, husband and 92 Yr old mum.
Disabled car park space at front of pub full, no blue badges displayed.
I reported this to staff.
Mum has a blue badge and we had to walk from back car park round to the front, as side door is locked.
Pub was very busy and we were sat at a small table in the middle of the back room, right by the fruit machine. Awful table.
Staff were friendly, but rushed off thier feet.
We all ordered roast dinner, 2 beef and 1 pork.
Extremely slow arriving almost 45min min wait.
Well presented

Great pub, lovely food, really friendly staff. Had a working lunch here today and had a very pleasant experience. Staff were really accommodating and their service was excellent. Food was really good. Multiple fish and chips, and sandwich combos. All very tasty and great portion size. Stayed for a couple of hours after in the bar to continue working and was made to feel very welcome doing so. Cannot thank you enough for a very enjoyable Friday afternoon at work.

Came here with friends yesterday for Sunday lunch. The COVID-19 procedures were all very clear and the staff were very helpful/knowledgable. Everywhere was immaculately clean and they clearly have this down to a T.
Lunch was wonderful - plenty of meat, unlimited Yorkshire puddings and loads of veg too. We all agreed the food was delicious!
Ordering for the whole menu (both food and drinks) was preferred through their secure website. This was quick ans easy and they take Apple Pay online so was definitely secure. Whatever we ordered was brought out within a couple of minutes - again, well rehearsed

Loved this place. The atmosphere of the garden was brilliant, plenty of space and the staff were more than happy to help and chat. The food was really good and the portions were very good too! (Check out that fish!!) Shame we only came here towards the end of summer, although the fireplace inside looks equally inviting. We will be back!

Excellent staff, food and service. Will visit again for sure. To start, we ordered the baked camembert to share. Deliciously melted and the bread it came with was incredibly moreish. I ordered the pie & mash - expertly crimped pie, crust to die for, filling from the heavens. I really enjoyed this pie! Mash was buttery, creamy and smooth. The cabbage and bacon wasn't great. It tasted reheated and the bacon bits were hard. My husband ordered the chicken caesar burger. I didn't taste the burger but was assured that it was tasty. I tried the fries and they were crunchy, hot, lightly salted and delicious
