At the Hayloft has an emperor size bed and has been rebuilt to mirror the existing roofline. There is exposed brickwork, green oak timbers and a hayloft, which is accessible only for the sprightly.
The herbs used for garnish & cooking are grown in our herb garden next to the kitchen door. Many of the vegetables & salad on the menu are grown in our polytunnel & the four raised beds. We have great success growing courgettes, runner beans, tomatoes, salad leaves, asparagus, strawberries, plums & root vegetables.

Food was good but nothing I haven’t had before, they like to play on the fact that a lot of the vegetables were grown in their garden but I can not understand how that justifies the steep prices. Service was fine but will not be returning, chef/ owner is extremely rude and treats his staff incredibly poorly. Everyone that works there, bar 1 or 2, seems to be extremely young, most likely because it’s cheap labour, they’re easy to boss around and they’re expendable. Car park is also terribly lit.

Can’t comment on food as didn’t get the chance to try it. Arrived at 2pm, to be told by a very snotty staff member who looked at me as if I was stupid, that the place closes at 3pm so we couldn’t have a table. First impressions are key, especially when you’re charging £20+ for a main meal. Will not be going back as first impression of this particular staff member had awful attitude.

Wow, what a fabulous dinner and special night. The Wellington Arms food & service are excellent, providing extra attention to detail and great quality food, grown on the property. We couldn’t fault it. One of the best steaks I have ever eaten, fast service and really attentive staff. The croquettes were a fav. Special thanks to Simon.
We will be back!

What a stunning, idyllic place!
We stayed at The Cart House. The room was spotless, and attention to detail was second-to-none. The owners have impeccable taste and obviously take great pride in everything they do.
The gardens were like something from the pages of a glossy magazine - simply beautiful! The food was out of this world - in our opinion, Michelin Star standard. The crab salad was a feast for the eyes and the palate!
From the homemade jams and bread to the antique China cups and saucers - everything was perfect.
The staff were professional, discreet and made us feel comfortable.

We have just finished an awesome chicken korma! Certainly the best we have ever had! It has taken two dinners to finish it, but enjoyed every mouthful! Was sceptical of potato and spinach but it is fantastic. Just a naan bread and Bhaji to add, then was just right! Wellie Arms are doing an outstanding job of making lockdown bearable! Great people and service to boot! Thank you all!

Just finished a 3 night stay at The Wellington Arms over Easter. We absolutely loved it - enough to extend our visit an extra night.
We stayed in the Hayloft which was immaculately clean and perfectly serene. The minibar was perfectly thought out, the bathroom was gorgeous, the loft was a super fun little nook to sit and peruse the countless cookbooks filling the library, the interior was simple yet warm. It really felt like staying in your super stylish friend's guest house. The pup was welcomed with all sorts of treats (bones, chew sticks and a big bowl of water).

This is not so much a pub as a top quality fine dining restaurant. Have been many times since first opening and have happily parted with every penny, consistantly excellent food cooked to perfection by Aussie chef Jason and front of house managed with aplomb by Simon. I could wax on and on lyrical here but I wont, don't listen to me, read the proffessional reviews. So it's a bit small, I've heard people say it's a little pricey which is utter rot, find anywhere better locally and I'll eat my hat. Can't recommend the Wellington enough, a true hidden gem.
