Inside you'll find a fresh dining area where food is served all day, our main bar area which features a roaring fire in the Winter, and our lounge area with lovely big comfy sofas. Drop us a line or just come on over and checkout our menus, real ales, delicious wines and cocktails. Dogs are welcome in the bar and lounge area and we also have a great beer garden with plenty of free parking.

What a lovely pub! Very friendly and warm welcome from the staff. A wonderful choice on the menu. I had the ham, egg and chips - the ham was really lovely and there was so much of it!
Great value for money, very generous portion sizes and altogether a very enjoyable afternoon. Will be sure to visit again.

Nice English pub, very dated feel, but no issue with that.
We did a Sunday carvery here, and even though the pub was not busy, they had run out of lamb and turkey.
I had to follow up twice to get a cappuccino I ordered for my wife, it didn't seem to me that they were going above and beyond service wise.

I’ve been here several times on my trips to Reading, and it’s amazing! Usually myself and my friend have 5 dogs between us which the staff have no problem accommodating for. Staff are friendly, food is amazing, pub is very dog friendly, couldn’t ask for more! Definitely our Reading trip regular go-to for lunch!

We stopped for an impromptu lunch after a long walk by the Aldermaston Canal. Really lovely friendly staff and although the menu is limited it's got some great dishes on it. I had a Smoked salmon and prawn salad and my partner had Wagu burger, both were amazing. Sat outside in the sunshine ☀ 😎 🌞

After cycling from Thatcham, stopped off for coffee and something sweet. I chose an Eton Mess and a latte. Both coffee and dessert were lovely and freshly prepared. The inside of the pub was lovely, comfortable seating arrangements. Sweet, friendly staff. Will definitely stop off for a meal next time am out on a cycle.
