We offer a complete sight testing service for all customers from start to finish, whether you are NHS funded or a private customer. Our appointments are booked half hourly to ensure we carry out a full and comprehensive eye examination - and there's no 'puff of air'! We offer an alternative method of eye pressure testing for glaucoma thats barely noticable.
It's not all about 2 for 1 offers- sometimes kids don't even need glasses but just the reassurance that their eyes are growing well. We use our expertise and experience in paediatric eye care to assess your childs eyes properly. It's always helpful to familiarise your child with common symbols that they may see during their eye examination here.

I have a complex prescription paired with unusual optic nerves and an astigmatism. I've been wearing glasses since I was four, contact lenses since I was 17. I've seen many different opticians over the years (am now aged 41) and can say with some authority that Terry is the best optician I've ever found. The care and patience he shows is extraordinary. I've witnessed Terry with other customers while waiting to be seen and have been so impressed, particularly at his interactions with little'uns. He genuinely cares about making them feel comfortable wearing glasses. I would recommend Avery Hill Opticians

Great optician, would recommend. Eye test went smoothly with all necessary precautions taken with respect to COVID, and Terry outlined clearly the spectacle lens options and pricings with no hard sell. He and the receptionist on duty at the time also took the time to assist me in selecting frames and were really very helpful and polite.
