Ravi Sohal is our resident Optometrist. He graduated from the University of Cardiff in 2001 and was awarded the title MCOptom by the College of Optometrist in 2002. He is registered with the General Optical Council (GOC), the Association of Optometrist (AOP), the British Contact Lens Association (BCLA) and the National Health Service (NHS).

Having called our opticians Blackheath Eyecare we wanted to write about this great area we work and live in. Blackheath has a long history of myth surrounding its name. Its origins have been linked to the Black Death during medieval times, with claims that this town was home to a large burial pit for the dead.
Apart from visiting us as your optician in Blackheath for your eyecare needs, Blackheath, a London suburb, is more commonly identified by the name "Blackheath Village". Blackheath is not actually a village, although it is often times referred to as one. The rail station in Blackheath is toward the south end of the town.
Charlton, located in South London, is part of the Royal Borough of Greenwich. This enchanting suburb is located 11.6 km east-southeast of Charring Cross, or the centre of London. Well placed in the historic centre of the county, Charlton is a major residential hub today and caters to all kinds of populations including young professionals, families and has a rich and diverse local culture encompassing several ethnic groups.

Definitely would recommend. The team were excellent all round raising knowledge and awareness. In my experience they beat other well known opticians by far. The first set of frames Jo picked up were the ones that were suitable, that should say it all, especially when I prefer contact lenses. I'll actually wear these. Thanks

Had the most wonderful experience with Jade at Blackheath Eyecare. Thoroughly a five star experience from start to finish. From my first enquiry via email, there was an almost immediate response and the professional and fantastic customer experience continued from there. Beautiful and quality eye wear of all kinds available and both of my appointments were conducted in a really covid safe way. Superb opticians with 3 highly qualified optometrists and state of the art equipment not seen in other local practices. I was initially searching for a place where I can just upgrade my current glasses. This is when I saw this Blackheath eyecare and booked an appointment with Jade. I was really excited and happy: I had one whole hour devoted just to me during which I could try almost everything in the store. I should say that the choice was quite a difficult one since everything in this store is hand picked as far as I understand so all frames met my expectations- they were quite light and trendy, let alone of different colours. I’ve been to Blackheath Eyecare a number of times now with various issues, and have always been delighted with their service.
Initially I attended for some advice on contact lenses. I was very apprehensive about this, as I hated the very thought of even touching my eyes! However Jade was an amazing teacher and gave me as much time as I needed to practice putting in the lenses, which I can now do with ease.
All the staff at Blackheath Eyecare are very polite and charming and have no end of patience and knowledge in helping you with your questions. Totally recommended!
