Services
Southdown Veterinary Group is a two branch small animal practice with RCVS accredited status. This means that we have regular inspections by our professional body, the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, to make sure we are providing the best possible care for your pets. We strive to provide a high standard of treatment and care to our clients and their pets.
Here at Southdown Veterinary Group, we're very proud to have so many enthusiastic and dedicated individuals working in our friendly practice. We are all passionate about animals and their well-being, from our veterinary surgeons and qualified nurses to our essential support staff. Highly trained and caring, each of us has a role to play in making this a special practice for you to visit with your pet.
Our team of highly dedicated and experienced veterinary surgeons and vet nurses are devoted to your pet's wellbeing. Your pets are always our priority. We all have our own pets and work hard to provide the same service to you that we would want for our own much-loved animals. At our surgeries we provide continuity of care, working with you to provide effective and high quality treatment.
Many of our patients are receiving long term treatment and are eligible for 'repeat prescriptions'. Usually, we see these patients every six months, although for some conditions and often at the start of a new treatment, this may be more frequently. If your pet is due more of their usual medication, please contact us no less than 2 working days before you would like to collect this.
In the event of an emergency during our normal opening hours please call our surgery on 01273 727433 (Hove) or 01273 593341 (Southwick) and you will be advised what to do next. If your call is during the night or at the weekend whilst our clinic is closed, please contact Vetcall Emergency Service on 01273 621682.

There are no doubt that there are some great members of staff at Southdown Vets and I will say that they are always friendly and professional. However they have let us down terribly and our dog has been suffering with a condition that could potentially have been sorted by now.
On the 12th of November I brought our 13 month Staffy to the clinic and explained that since September/October she had been having intermittent lameness on her back left leg. It seemed to be more prominent after resting or after running. Some days where she wouldn’t weight bear on it for the rest of the day after exercise

From every member of staff I encountered whether in person or on the phones you are all so friendly and kind! Its a difficult time for everyone but you are doing a fantastic job thanks so much for taking such good care of Ozzy!
