Southmoor Pre-School provides early years education for children aged from 2 years to 4 years and is run by a parent management committee. It was opened in 1968 and was run in the local village hall 4 days a week. Southmoor Pre-School now operates in a brand new purpose built building, built in 2011 in Southmoor, in a rural area of Oxfordshire. The Pre-School is open every week day during school term time from 08.45 until 2.45. All children share access to a secure enclosed outdoor play area.
Services
Southmoor Pre-school is a purpose built building alongside John Blandy school in Southmoor village, we are a community run Pre-school offering care and education for children aged two and four years. We have two rooms in the Pre-school, Robins room for our two to three year olds and Owls for our three to four year olds.
We have a staff team of whom have a wealth of experience that comes from working with children and families in a wide range of settings. Working with children is the most rewarding job. I love to see the children develop, I am so passionate about Early Years and believe all children should have the same opportunities, I thrive to make that happen for them all.
If you buy anything online (Amazon, Argos, Debenhams, eBay, John Lewis, Marks and Spencer, Next, Sainsburys, Ocado and more) please consider registering with Easy Fundraising. Every time you purchase something online via Easy Fundraising, retailers will make a donation to Southmoor Pre-School. 3 times per year we arrange for collection of your unwanted clothes, shoes, and soft toys.
Things are going to be very different though, as you can imagine. We have been able to invite back our school leaver children and those where both parents needed to return to work. We will have two bubbles, one in each room, please see a book below about returning to school in a 'bubble'.
Owls will be starting cookery classes after February half term, this is an exciting opportunity for children to try new foods, they will be bringing their dishes home with the recipe cards to share with you and hopefully you can have a go at making these at home. Our chair, Michelle we be starting this with the children every Wednesday.
