North Hinksey Pre School
We are a community based Charity Preschool and Childcare provision, based in a "bubble of loveliness"- North Hinksey, on the outskirts of Oxford.

We share the site of North Hinksey Primary School and although we are independent, governed by our parent/ volunteer management committee, we work closely with the School especially in regard to transitions for children starting reception and the children from school that attend our breakfast and after school clubs. We believe children learn when they are feeling safe, secure and nurtured.
Services
Our Staff are passionate about working with Children, and are fascinated by how children learn. They value all children as individuals, wanting to support them, in developing their skills, whilst watching and supporting their growth within an environment outside the home.

They strive to make a difference to both children and their families, through building strong relationships with parents and other practitioners, building a community around our setting.Staff view their role as helping children move through to whatever their next stage is, whether its school, another setting or just ready for life!
Staff work closely with parents to ensure children feel confident about starting pre-school. Staff continue to work closely in partnership with parents throughout children's time at the setting. As a member of the Early Years Alliance, North Hinksey Preschool recognises parents as the first and foremost educators of their children.
We want your child to feel happy and safe at the preschool. To make sure that this is the case, the staff will work with you to decide on how to help your child to settle into the preschool. The preschool has a policy about helping children through transitions to school or other settings: a copy is enclosed in our policies.
We believe that care and education are equally important in the experience which we offer children. The pre-school organises the day so that children can take part in a variety of child-chosen and adult-led activities. These take account of children's changing energy levels throughout the day. We cater for children's individual needs for rest and quiet activities during the day.
A parent management committee - whose members are elected by the parents of the children who attend the pre-school - manages the preschool. The elections take place at the pre-school's Annual General Meeting. The Annual General Meeting is open to all the parents of the children who attend the preschool.
