Staff support children's language skills well, including for those children who are learning English as an additional language. For example, they learn the basic names and written words in the child's home language for the fruit served at snack, and use Makaton to support basic communication. Parents speak very highly of the staff team.
They comment that their children love to attend the setting and the support they receive is excellent, especially when they need extra help, such as with speech or settling in. Little Oak Pre-school operates from our own Portacabin situated at 50A Holford Road, Witney.

Services
Little Oak Pre-school was started by parents over 40+ years ago and was run by a committee consisting of parents and Interested parties. The pre-school has three directors and a manager who takes full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the pre-school. The Portacabin belongs to the pre-school and we pay rent for the ground we occupy.
Our ethos is to provide high quality, safe and inclusive Pre-school that has regard for the themes and commitments of the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework.
We have a commitment to building positive relationships while working in partnership with parents/carers and working closely with other agencies, for example, OFSTED, EYSENIT (Early Years Special Education Needs Inclusive Teacher), SALT (Speech and Language Team), HEALTH VISITORS, and many more to ensure that the children in our care are receiving the best possible start to life.

We say that 'when the clothes are to old to wear out they are ideal to wear to pre-school'. If you choose not to send your child in uniform, can we please warn you in advance, that we like the children to participate in a full curriculum and sometimes that means they may get very, very messy but have the most wonderful experiences.
Myself and my husband would like to thank everyone for all the amazing work they have done to settle C in, we're so pleased at how C is doing and noticing a difference to her development already. Thank you for the many positive comments made on the questionnaires, they have been lovely to read. Below are some examples of these:.
During hot weather the children will still have access to the outside when possible. A risk assessment will be done and a decision made to the suitability of playing outside. As the pre-school has a canopy for outside use it would be exeptionally hot weather that would stop them from playing underneath.
