Services
At Knockbreda we have a caring and committed staff who work together for the benefit of every child. Every school is built on the quality of its teaching staff, and here at Knockbreda PS we have a fantastic team, each with the highest level of teaching ability and care for their pupils. What do you like to do outside school?
Governors have always played an important role in giving schools a sense of direction and in supporting Principals and staff in their work with pupils. They undertake this role in a voluntary capacity and provide a vital contribution to school life and development.

Governors attend regular meetings of the Governing Body, at least one per term and are expected to show an interest in all school activities and to be informed about education in general. They are invited to attend school functions and participate in events throughout the school year. Governors are also offered the opportunity to attend regular training courses organised by the Education Authority.
The Board of Governors draws up the admissions criteria and delegates to an Admissions Sub-Committee, which includes the Principal, the responsibility for applying these criteria. During the admissions procedure when applying the criteria punctual applications will be considered before late applications are considered.
At Knockbreda we aim to provide a broad and balanced curriculum which gives every pupil the opportunity to experience success in learning and to achieve his/her full potential and which acknowledges individual pupil needs, abilities and different learning styles. The purpose of this broad and relevant curriculum is to help our children learn what it is to be a valuable member of society.

My son is in P1 in Knockbreda and LOVES it. He’s quite shy, but it’s a lovely, supportive school and he has settled in really well. The teachers and assistants are all very friendly and helpful, and my son couldn’t be happier!
