Our approach to each child's education is set in the context of our belief that children should delight in effort, delight in acceptance and delight in achievement. The children who make up the School Council are an important part of our team and we trust them to ensure that the views of all Botanic children are taken into account. We meet every three weeks to discuss issues raised and to decide how we are going to help to move things forward.

It is hoped you find this useful and informative - but only as an introduction to our 'naturally integrated' multi-cultural school that traditionally accepts children from all communities. A proportion of our intake comprises children of foreign nationals who are studying or lecturing at Queen's University [QUB].
Nursery have been recycling using cardboard boxes to create their own models, they have also been using paper from their black paper bin to cover their models in paper mache before painting. Some children in P4 have been weighing the paper bins in each classroom for the Litter Less Campaign to help reduce the amount of paper waste.
Botanic Primary School Council members welcome you to our school website. As School Council members, we are responsible for ensuring Botanic is the best school we think it can be. We are trusted to make the decisions that shape our school and make it the way that we want it to be. Children from Year 4 to Year 7 engage with the democratic process to elect representatives onto our School Council.
Botanic Primary School is committed to international work and received the British Council International School Award in 2011, 2014, 2017 and most recently, 2021. In recent years, we have work on collaborative exchanges with schools in Spain, Greece, England, Turkey, Poland, Italy and Nepal. All children from Nursery - Primary 7 receive weekly French classes to build both language skills and knowledge of French culture and society.
Sandrine has been helping us to learn about the culture of Quebec during both our French lessons and clubs. Recently the children made Pudding Chomeur - a regional dish especially popular during the saison des sucres, when maple sap is collected and processed. The children in P2/P3 french club have been having lots of fun learning about 'la galette des rois.'
