St. Peter's Primary School is one of the two primary schools serving the educational needs of the parish of St Peter's. It is a caring school where everyone shares a common goal - to do the very best for all the children who attend it. We are a Catholic school and we try to establish and maintain the highest Christian and Catholic values for life.
We work in partnership with you the parents and the wider parish community. This website intends to explain to you as much as possible about the school, what we stand for and what we offer your child. We hope to be able to keep you fully updated about what is going on in school so remember to check our website as often as you can.

Services
The teaching and learning experience at St. Peter's inspires all of our children to question, to reflect and to understand in a happy, secure and inclusive environment. We aim to provide an education that will maximise each child's potential and promote his / her personal development. We will achieve this in partnership with the parents and the local and wider community.
Depending on the season, there are many organised after school activities. Should children not be involved in these supervised activities, they should be left the school grounds no later than 3.00p.m. To help us keep a check on attendance, a note or telephone call is requested if your child is absent.
Pupils are also encouraged to participate in after school sports and teams representing St. Peters regularly compete in competitions. In recent years they have experienced different levels of success in league and cup competitions. Soccer, Gaelic and Netball are available for boys and girls as appropriate.
Our aim in St. Peter's is to ensure that each child receives a broad balanced education, acquiring the knowledge, skills, attitudes, values and work ethic required to meet the challenges of life. The Curriculum extends beyond the classroom as children are involved in many other areas of school life, which all helps to equip them with necessary life skills.
We have put together two leaflets- Reading at home and Mental Maths at home to support you, the parents in helping your child with homework and overall learning. A copy of the relevant one will be sent home at the beginning of each year for you to use. If you have any questions regarding anything contained in these, please contact the class teacher who will be happy to help.
