Services
In our school we aim to create a safe and caring environment where everyone feels happy and valued. Through our Catholic ethos we encourage respect for self and others. We ensure each child is motivated and provided with the opportunity to fulfil their potential. St. Joseph's Primary school is a co-educational maintained primary school situated in the village of Meigh in the parish of Upper Killeavy.
The general principles, which underpin our work, are those set out in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and are enshrined in the Children (Northern Ireland) Order 1995, "Co-Operating to Safeguard Children and Young People in Northern Ireland" (DOH, 2017), the Department of Education (Northern Ireland) guidance "Safeguarding and Child Protection in Schools" (DENI Circular 2017/04) and the Safeguarding Board for NI Core Child Protection Policy and Procedures (2017).
Primary 1 had a brilliant morning competing in the Sprint, Scoop and Obstacle Races on the track. They were amazing. We used number cards to order numbers to 5. Then we used lots of different maths resources to make sets and match them to the correct number. Primary 1 pupils have been enjoying playing together in our playground.
