Salathai Restaurant
Booking is essential, please call us on 01225 484663 to reserve a table. Please note that we are only able to accept customers from 2 different households, or up to 6 people from different households. Thai food has a reputation like, Thai weather, for being fiercely hot, but in reality we have an equal number of spicy and plain dishes.

A typical Thai meal normally consists of a couple of meat dishes together with a vegetable dish and some rice or noodles, which are shared amongst everybody. Our food style is home cooking, and our dishes range from no spice to medium spicy. If you would like your food with extra chillies, please ask.
Services
Traveling by car? We recommend you use one of the Park & Ride sites at Newbridge (West), Lansdown (North) and Odd Down (South). With frequent services starting as early as 6:15am and operating every 12-15 minutes, the Park & Ride services in Bath are an easy, cheap and convenient way to park your car and ride a bus into the city centre.

The taste of curry is very good, but the rice is too dry and not in good quality as in most of other thai restaurants.

Showed up around 7:30 and there were many open tables. Asked for a table for 4 on a Saturday night and the sever acted like they couldn't fit us in. They came back and showed us a table. We sat for 15 minutes staring at the servers waiting for someone to come take orders and while no one looked busy they never came and took a drink order or even acknowledged our presence. We decided to walk across the street to Mai Thai and were greeted warmly and were quickly seated for our meal. Would not recommend Salathai due to there very poor service.

Good fried corn pancake.

Food was average. I was looking for an authentic Thai restaurant, but my food did not taste spicy at all. It doesn't taste like Thai food to me.

To make a good massaman curry you need to cook the meat in the coconut milk based sauce for a long time so that the meat is tender and delicious. Salathai offer either beef, duck, chicken or prawn massaman. They achieve this obviously by having a vat of massaman sauce base and put precooked thin slices of meat in at the last minute. Disappointing. Having said that, starter platter was good, service was good and the atmosphere nice.
