We are a popular independent restaurant and wine bar focusing on modern British food infused with influences from around the world, using the best of local and seasonal produce. We're open for dinner Monday to Saturday and open for lunch Monday to Sunday, with hearty Sunday roasts offering the perfect excuse for family and friends to get together for one of the highlights of the week.
Our passion for wine is reflected in everything from the decor to the diversity of the carefully curated list, featuring more than 50 sensibly priced wines at any one time, many of which are also available by the glass. We are currently operating with a reduced number of tables, in line with government guidelines, so would strongly recommend booking to avoid disappointment.

Just metres from The Theatre Royal Bath, Raphael is one of Bath's longest-running restaurants. An institution on the city's food and wine scene since the 80s, we have been going strong on Upper Borough Walls for more than 20 years. While you'll still find that cosy informal vibe, and an obvious love for wine, our menus are continually evolving to bring you the best of modern British food, complete with some unexpected contemporary touches.
Miles Kesterton and his team are passionate about provenance when it comes to sourcing the best quality local ingredients, from the finest cuts of meat to super-fresh seafood and locally grown veg for Raphael's regularly evolving menus. Whether you're in the mood for a quick bite, or the full three courses for lunch in Bath, you'll find plenty on our crowd-pleasing menus to tempt you.
