Our aim is to provide all children with an engaging, exciting and empowering curriculum that equips them for today and tomorrow. We use our Hendal Primary ethos, "Belong, Aspire Achieve, " to promote positive attitudes to learning and motivate our children to succeed in all aspects of everyday life.
At Hendal Primary School Our Curriculum is designed to: recognise and build on children's prior learning, provide first hand learning experiences, nurture children, recognise the importance of parent partnerships, promote the importance of a healthy body and mind and ensure a language rich environment, allowing children to develop resilience, creativity and independence whilst raising standards across the National Curriculum.

Services
Hendal Primary School is an ambitious, nurturing and inclusive school where children, families and staff feel a sense of belonging. We are proud to meet the individual needs of every child and we have high expectation of learning and behaviour. Everyone aspires to be the best they can be. We have an exciting Curriculum where children make cross curricular links between subjects.
At Hendal Primary School we aim to ensure that the children at our school are provided with high-quality learning experiences based on a broad and balanced curriculum. We promote the social, moral, spiritual cultural, emotional and physical development of children at the school. We prepare children for the challenges, opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of adult life.
At Hendal Primary we strive to support all children and enable them to achieve their full potential at school. In order to do this, many steps are taken to support them through their learning journey. Quality first teaching is vital, however for some children, there are some occasions when further additional support is needed to help them achieve their targets.
Hendal Primary School admits pupils at the beginning of the Autumn, Spring and Summer terms into Lower Foundation. They stay for 15 hours each week. Children then move into Upper Foundation at the Autumn term before their 5th birthday. To apply for a full time place you must contact Wakefield LA Admissions on 01924 305616.
Please ensure that your child regularly and punctually attends school. All children arriving late to school, or leaving early, should see Mrs Brailsford, Attendance Officer, at the office. To comply with Government legislation, schools are now required to publish authorised and non-authorised absences of all pupils on an annual basis.
