We would love to meet you. Hi everyone, Well done to all your children for a fabulous first week back. Services
In Foundation Stage (Nursery and Reception) we follow a creative curriculum, tailored to the interests and needs of the children. The curriculum is based on the three characteristics of effective learning which are playing and exploring, active learning and creating and thinking critically. Our school follows the National Curriculum in KS 1 and 2 and uses a topic based approach on a 2 year cycle.
The cost for Nursery dinners will be 2.00. Please give the school office 2 week's notice if you wish your child to change from packed lunch to dinners or vice versa. Payment for school dinners will be charged through Parentpay only. The allocation of Nursery places is managed by the Headteacher in conjunction with the Governing body, subject to set admission criteria.
At Rothwell Primary school, we pride ourselves on being caring, and ensuring our children feel safe, happy and enjoy their learning through our exciting curriculum, in order to achieve and be 'the best they can be!' Our school motto and REACH values underpin all we believe in and are represented in all we do.
We are embracing the new Change4Life campaign 'Make a swap when you next shop'. This campaign is in light of the new statistic showing that 34% of children leaving primary school in the UK are overweight. The campaign aims to encourage families to cut back on sugar in their weekly diet by making simple swaps when shopping.
The main homework in Reception Class is reading. Parents and carers reading with their child for ten minutes on a daily basis is crucial to a child's early learning and development. Alongside this each child has a learning log which is sent out at least once every half term. There is no official homework in Nursery Class but parents and carers are encouraged to read stories and sing rhymes with their child.
