St Mary's C Of E Voluntary Aided Primary School
I am delighted to be headteacher of St. Mary's CE (VA) Primary School. We are a successful school thanks to the collaboration between children, staff, parents, governors, partners and church who work together to serve a diverse multicultural community. Founded in hope St. Mary's CE (VA) Primary School is a place where all can find their voice, grow in wisdom, and live well in community and service.

Leaders at St. Mary's School have a clear vision that has three key branches. The three branches of our vision grow from the core value of HOPE. We believe that hope gives us optimism for a better future. No matter where you are on your journey that through the grace of God, we have the hope of a new and better start.

Founded in hope St. Mary's CE (VA) Primary School is a place where all can find their voice, grow in wisdom and live well in community and service. St. Mary's serves a rich, ethnically diverse, inner-city community with significant location deprivation. We welcome children and families from a broad range of cultures and backgrounds resulting in a high proportion of children having English as an Additional Language (EAL) across school.
Presentation is important and helps us feel ready for learning. Everybody has responsibility to be ready to learn in school. Wearing our agreed school uniform and taking pride in it ensures we can embrace our learning. Only the items listed below are acceptable as Uniform at St Mary's CE (VA) Primary School.
The School Cook and her team offers a great range of freshly prepared hot meals, sandwiches and puddings each day that conform to Government Nutritional Standards and give children a healthy meal at lunchtime. The cost of a School meal is 2.20 per day or 11.00 per week.

Upper Foundation, Year 1 and Year 2 receive a free meal under the Government's Universal Infant Free School Meal Scheme (this however does not qualify them as Pupil Premium children only if they receive Low Income Free School Meals).Parents receiving Universal Infant Free School Meals can still also claim Low Income Free School Meals which gives the child to other benefits in school.
To maintain a smooth flow of people around school we will continue to implement a one way system around school as you drop your child at their classroom doors. Drop off - 8:45 to 9.05 am - Registration period is 9:00 to 9:05 am, anyone arriving after 9:05 must sign in at reception and will receive a late mark in the register.
