Each half term we adopt a 'home school value'. Putting it simply, it is a way of learning about the beliefs and principles which give our school its identity and shapes how we treat one another or how decisions are made.
These values are mainly drawn from the bible and the teachings of Jesus, and as such are frequently referred to as Christian values; we believe that they are the values that all of us draw upon when part of a community to ensure that each and every one of that community is supported, nourished and cared for in whatever they do.

I would like to take the opportunity to introduce myself to you all. With Bawdsey and Orford being near to each other and having lots of similarities in terms of catchment, rural location and main aims, it means being a shared Headteacher for both schools will allow us to share the expertise of staff, resources, purchasing power and savings from my dual role.
The Public Sector Equality Duty requires public bodies and others carrying out public functions to have due regard to the need to eliminate discrimination, to advance equality of opportunities and foster good relations. This ensures that public bodies consider the needs of all individuals in their day to day work - in shaping policy, in delivering services, and in relation to their own employees.
Class 1 is home to our youngest children: Nursery and Reception and some Year 1. They have use of a bright and cheery classroom and a wonderful outside play area. The emphasis in Class 1 is firmly on building foundations and learning through experimentation and play. We have two teachers in Class 1; Mrs Marriott teaches on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesday mornings, while Ms Hartley teaches on Wednesday afternoons, Thursdays and Fridays.
Our curriculum has always had our children's interests at the heart of it, and our current unique offer aims to ensure that every single child flourishes at every stage of their learning here with us, linking to our Christian vision that having faith in, and achieving, all of these small building blocks over time will lead to better outcomes for all of our pupils.
As we are a Voluntary Aided Primary School we teach Religious Education according to The Trust Deed, Practices and Beliefs of the Church of England supplied by the St. Edmundsbury and Ipswich Diocesan Guidelines.
