Regular vaccinations & boosters are essential to provide protection to dogs, cats and rabbits against life threatening diseases such as parvo virus cat flu and myxomatosis. At Valley Vets ALL our vaccination prices include a full health check to check for problems even if you have not been aware of them and often allows us to make an early diagnosis that can be so important in ensuring a successful outcome.
Children are at increased risk of disease from worms; if you have a young family or your pets often come into contact with children, you should pay particular attention to regularly worming your pets. Worm your cat or dog at least every 3 months Use a quality wormer broad spectrum wormer Treat puppies monthly until 6 months old Scavengers may need more frequent treatment Spot on treatments are available for difficult cats.
From 5 months of age for both male & female cats. We also encourage that your cat should have also reached a minimum weight of 2kg before they are neutered. Neutering is also strongly recommended for your rabbit. This helps to prevent unnecessary health complications and stress. Your rabbit will live a longer and happier life once neutered.
Frequent health checks by a veterinary professional (along with regular checks by you) will highlight potential problems. Signs to look out for include smelly breath, reddened gums, any discharges, broken teeth and facial swellings. If you are in any doubt, seek veterinary advice. This can be achieved in a number of ways.
Regular treatment is essential to prevent your pet picking up fleas that can quickly turn into an infestation of your pet and home. Fleas are often an unwelcome house guest when you own a cat or dog. Infestations start when adult fleas jump onto our pets from an infested environment - possibly your home, garden or local park.
