She then left to work as a Receptionist at the busy Queen Mother Hospital for Animals in Potters Bar (our emergency hospital). 5 years later, she returned to The Veterinary Centre as Senior Receptionist! Kay is a keen cyclist and owns a cute Border Terrier called Norman and a "psycho" cat called Rupert. She is also a volunteer member of the ZSL Zoo (Whipsnade).

The Queen Mother Hospital for Animals at The Royal Veterinary College provides a dedicated emergency service when our practice is closed - eg at night, weekends and on Bank Holidays. If your pet needs this service 'Out Of Hours', it is recommended that you phone The Queen Mother Hospital (QMH) first, so the vets and nursing staff are ready for your arrival.
1) There is a joining fee of 10 per owner (for life). This fee will be collected with the first payment. 2 If you cancel at any time other than on an anniversary of joining the plan, you will be required to pay the practice either the outstanding amount for treatment received, or the monthly payments due until the anniversary of your plan, whichever is lower.
Puppies can start their vaccination programme as early as 6 weeks of age for the first injection, the second injection is given at 10 weeks of age and your puppy can mix with other dogs from 12 weeks of age. The vaccines are for the diseases; Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, Parvovirus and Parainfluenza.
Kittens can start their vaccination programme as early as 9 weeks of age for the first injection, the second injection is given at 12 weeks of age and your kitten can mix with other cats from 14 weeks of age. The vaccines are for the diseases; Infectious Enteritis, Cat "Flu" (2 viruses) and Feline Leukaemia.
A Myxomatosis vaccine booster is usually given yearly in May/early June to provide immunity over the last half of the year when the incidence of myxomatosis is more common. The vaccine lasts for about 6 months, in some circumstances another booster may be required so that immunity lasts for a whole year.
