Services
At Baldock Veterinary Centre we believe in listening carefully and believe strongly in your right to choose what is best for both you and your pet. We can advise you of the nature and cost involved in any investigations and treatments. We are part of a larger team totalling four vets and four nurses and three receptionists in partnership with Royston Veterinary Centre.
At Baldock Veterinary Centre our own Baldock and Royston Veterinary Surgeons provide 24 hour veterinary care ensuring your pet is seen by one of our own vets day or night. In case of an emergency ring the practice on 01462 895579 at any time of the day or night. Out of hours you will reach an answering machine with the mobile number of the vet on duty.
Dogs will need to be microchipped and registered with their keepers' contact details. All keepers, including breeders, must keep these details up to date. The only exemption from the requirement is where a vet has certified in writing that a dog is unfit to be microchipped.
Once the new rules come into effect, if a dog without a microchip comes to the attention of the authorities, its keeper may be served with a notice requiring the dog to be microchipped, and may face criminal prosecution and a 500 fine if they do not comply with the notice.Anyone breeding dogs will be responsible for microchipping their puppies before they sell or give them to new keepers.

We are located in the picturesque centre of Baldock town in a 16th century cottage which is Grade II listed. There is free short stay (one to two hours) on-street parking outside the surgery and in the local area. We are conveniently located near to other local amenities including banks, a dental surgery, delicatessans, hairdressers and restraurants, with an attractive green at the front of the building.

The good news is that with the help of diet and exercise, most dogs and cats can be helped to lose weight by their owners, as we can be their dietary self control!
