Cherry Tree Hill Infant school was opened in 1952 and Cherry Tree Hill Junior School was opened in 1940. The Junior school began life as a Primary school until the Infant school was opened next door. As a school built during the Second World War, air raid shelters were built in the grounds of the Junior school and pupils were frequently ushered into them when the sirens went off.

At Cherry Tree Hill Primary School, assessment is an essential part of how we help children achieve their potential. It is a continuous process and an integral part of the teaching and learning that takes place in our school.
Through daily, formative assessments we are constantly evaluating children's knowledge, skills and understanding and, along with summative assessments, are able to evaluate children's current strengths and the next steps in their learning.
