Services
Fledglings Day Nursery is owned and managed by a qualified primary school teacher with over ten years experience. Research suggests that outcomes for children are better in nurseries which are led by Early Years teachers. Our staff receive full training in safeguarding children, PREVENT and food hygience.
We are committed to keeping all children safe. If you have any concerns about a child please speak to a member of staff. All of our staff are fully trained in safeguarding. Please see our safeguarding policy for further information. This is available under the 'policies' section of this website or upon request at the nursery.
We offer places for babies from 3 months of age. We appreciate the importance of individual routines at this age and work closely with parents to ensure a personal approach for each child. We have a separate sleep room and nappy change facilities. At this age, play and learning is very exploratory and discovery based with all five senses involved.
We are currently developing our curriculum goals for each room. These are designed to be aspirational and meet the needs of the children who attend our nursery. They provide a progression of skills as children move through the nursery. We also hope that they will support parents and carers to help their child with their learning at home.
We welcome feedback from parents and carers and each year we ask parents for their views of our nursery. This helps us review our practice and provision and to ensure we are meeting the needs of children and parents. As a result of the survey improvements have been made to the way that practitioners discuss children's progress with parents at the beginning of each half term.

I am an independent usborne organiser and have had the opportunity to help nursery raise funds to buy brand new books and also gain free books in the process. As part of this I have visited nursery to read to the children.
This was such a lovely experience, I was welcomed by friendly staff and the children were all very well behaved and listened intently.
They were a pleasure to read and all requested more, showing off their love of books! They truly are all a credit to the nursery.
Thank you for having me 😁
