Welcome to St Aidan's Day Nursery - A childcare facility for children from birth to eight years old. Our nursery is situated in the old St Aidan's Church Hall, and over the years this has been an integral part of the local community. Through providing a childcare service aimed at the family not only the child we hope to restore that same feeling of community within the St Aidan's Day Nursery.
Our motivation for the opening of this nursery is to be in a position to provide a positive experience for each and every child, and their families during their time with us. If you require any more information about St Aidan's please get in touch by calling 01302 340 412, or send us a message.

Services
At St Aidan's Nursery we provide a safe, secure and nurturing environment, an environment that provides opportunities for exploration, creativity and fun. The diverse needs of our children are met by a highly committed and professional staff who have both experience and theoretical knowledge of the early years foundation stage.
Plans are based on individual children's interests, needs and stage of development, identified by qualified professionals through observations, and through working closely with parents and each other. Our daily activities and routines make full use of both our indoor and outdoor facilities which includes an all weather outdoor play area and vegetable plot.
St Aidan's is a 94 place day nursery. The nursery comprises of a baby room which is located upstairs and has a baby change room and separate sleep room, the upstairs room has been divided into two to enable us to split the crawlers and the walkers. The toddler room is on the ground floor adjoining onto the pre school room via a folding door.
Our toddler room offers opportunities and space for children to practise their new emerging skills. We provide lots of exciting and challenging activities that are age appropriate and useful in supporting these new found skills.
We place great emphasis on manners and personal and social skills, helping children to foster friendships and build on their confidence and self esteem, through praise, encouragement and staff modelling preferred behaviour. Our toddler and pre-school room is divided by a moveable glass door making interaction possible between the age groups.

Our focus is learning through play, constructing knowledge through doing and discussing their ideas. To make this possible staff provide extensive resources, and opportunities to challenge and expand children's existing knowledge identified through observations. The nursery routine provides lots of opportunities to introduce and reiterate, counting, colour and shape, name recognition, an awareness of letter and sound, manners, taking turns e.t.c.
