Toy Box Day Nursery and Pre-School is conveniently situated in Cantley, Doncaster, a short distance from Doncaster Dome and Doncaster town centre. The Nursery is well served by public transport and also has safe off road parking for parents/carers when dropping off and picking up their children from Nursery.
Toy Box is housed in a large, bright airy building which has been refurbished to ensure we are able to offer extensive and suitable play areas for all the children regardless of their age and ability. This includes a large conservatory and a large outdoor canopy thus ensuring freeflow access to indoor/outdoor play regardless of the weather.

The aim of the Nursery is to treat all children as individuals within a warm and welcoming environment where they can play and learn happily. Great emphasis is placed on multicultural awareness and equal opportunities and so children are taught to recognise similarities and celebrate differences. The Nursery prides itself on having long serving staff who are all qualified to a minimum of level 3.
Toy Box Day Nursery recognises the fact that all children develop at a different rate, therefore the focus is on stage rather than age. We provide facilities and activities to meet all stages of development ensuring that the children are encouraged and allowed to develop at their own rate.
Therefore, we provide care in three clearly defined areas, the 'Baby Unit' for those under 18 months, the 'Early Years Unit' for children aged between 18 months and three and half years and finally a 'Preschool Unit' for children three and half years and over.Each of the units has it's own staff team led by a Senior Nursery Nurse who is highly qualified with years of experience of caring for children of this stage.

Toy Box Day Nursery operates a "Key Person" system. Whilst a bond with the Key Person is important for your child's initial settling in process all staff members within your child's room share an equal role in your child's daily care and development. All staff have a duty to know each child's individual needs in order that they can deliver a holistic and cohesive care package for you and your child.
Within the Birth to Five Framework every child has an assessment plotting their individual development. This assessment covers the learning life of children once they start Nursery until they leave to go to school. Throughout the assessment observations are made, photographs taken and pieces of work are collected.
