We grabbed a bit of tea, as a group of four. The staff were fine, not ground breaking but they did their job.
The food was nice, my starter of scallops was unpleasant, I tried to enjoy it but it was cold and was just smokey and mushy.
My main of pork was much more pleasant; but the meat was very fatty and appeared to be rare? I couldn’t finish it.
The Australian Shiraz was not to my taste either, so I opted for a pint of lager.
I noticed a seating area in the kitchen, which looked interesting.
The toilets were nice, clean and smelled lovely.
For the money you pay, this is a bit much. I

Want a Michelin star chef to cook your dinner?
We gave this place some high ratings. It’s definitely a pricey place to eat, but is it worth it? I say yes!
We ordered: Roasted Cumbrian Herdwick lamb rump 🐑, coco beans, aubergine, tamarind, sheepmilk ricotta, lamb fat. This isn’t somewhere I would eat regularly. I would go here to celebrate (e.g. getting a promotion) . The service was amazing; the waiter even poured our sauce for us. It was very dark inside - initially we walked straight past it because it looked closed from the outside. Although it was a very small portion size, it did

Great scallop starter. But unwhelming mains, the halibut was overcooked, and while the venison was cooked perfecty the lasagne didn't add to the dish at all. I've had much better meals in london , and it was a shame that my favorite bread and wine was closed. I mentioned to the waiter my feelings on the mains but no comment was made. I would have let that slide but from the moment we walked in we felt like we were looked down on even though the restaurant was quiet they had to check if tables were available. We also were asked to provide our name and number as if a possible no pay risk even, and

The Chef's counter experience was so good, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was perfect. We felt really comfortable and relaxed and the service was excellent. A special thanks to Oliver in the kitchen, he was really informative and very easy to chat to. All in all a great evening and I would really recommended. Thank you for a lovely evening.

Just had a lovely lunch here. Cosy welcoming feel, peaceful away from the hustle and bustle of Xmas shopping, and not too noisy even when it got a lot busier later on.
Seasonal menu looked enticing but a little too large for us at 3 courses for lunch. If I remember it was about £54 with a cocktail but don't quote me on that.
We opted for a hake dish and venison dish with a side order of triple cooked chips.
Absolutely delicious, the vension shoulder trimmings came as a lasagne on the side, with the fillet on the main plate.
Friendly attentive service and nice to have a change of vibe compared

Food sublime - service somewhat lacking.
We went for the festive lunch menu. Had one each of the starters , both delicious , but placed infront of the wrong customer, before we could say anything he had dashed off the get the dressing for the bream ..( I know this isn't a huge thing but having been to other Jason restaurants it was a bit off) . We moved onto main course with chicken, cranberry, creamed Brussels...fabulous flavours and presented beautifully, my partner had the flat iron steak , again cooked to perfection but the given steak knife wouldn't cut through it , had to ask for a sharper

An atrocious experience. Came to Social Eating House a couple of years ago and did the chef's table and had a spectacular time. This experience was the polar opposite of that. At our last visit, service was on point, friendly processional and attentive.
This experience, well, It took almost 10 minutes just to get water. We asked for sparkling water and got a room temperature bottle. Fifteen minutes later, someone came to take our order except we wanted to have cocktails to start. We Had to order everything together. Cocktails came in relatively good order. However, our empty cocktail glasses

Just wow! Amazing experience at the chefs counter, sitting in the kitchen. Fantastic atmosphere and so much fun to be able to chat with the chefs as they worked. Everyone was really friendly and welcoming.
The food was outstanding, from presentation to taste, absolutely flawless.
The tasting menu is a lot of food! So arrive hungry. They paid attention to our dietary requirements/preferences too.
The only criticism was that the drinks took wayyyy too long to arrive. We had been served two food courses before our first drink arrived. The food did arrive very quickly and we felt a little rushed

A feel of class, but not in your face, moreover subtle and refined decor and ambience. Greeted warmly we were met by our waiter who talked us through the menu. The descriptive on the menu is imaginative and benefits from a little explanation… both interesting and fun. When it came to the food… a flavour explosion, dining Nirvana. I could easily compose an individual write up on every course. For fear of boring you, I will simply say that every course was 11/10!! But I have to say, the dessert was mind blowing. We will most definitely return

Michelin starred, hip, and with a speakeasy upstairs to boot....how could you beat this winning combination? Add in the professionalism and finesse from this staff and it calls for a memorable date night.
I'm not one to seek our fusion-y food but the menu at Social Eating House caught my attention. From the Japanese inspired foie and Spanish inspired meat, I honestly enjoyed every iteration of the chef has in mind.
I thought some of the plating was trying too hard, as I felt it took away from the brilliant flavor combinations but hey, it works for some.
Loved the cocktails and loved that

Decent but slightly disappointed.
The restaurant itself was beautiful, and we would expect nothing less from a Michelin Star establishment, yet the meal left us underwhelmed.
We had the Devon crab for a starter, Rump of Herdwick lamb, and Cornish hake as mains. All presented beautifully but flavor wise, the fish left something to be desired. The lamb was delicious and the starter, an interesting texture and flavor profile. But we left for the evening feeling slightly disappointed.
Possibly we didn't order the best items from the menu and may need to return again in the future to prove

I have mixed feelings about this spot, but their Italian sommelier made this a four instead of three star review. From the moment we walked in, he took great care of us by taking our bags and seating us at our table. Throughout our meal he checked in on us and impressed us with his wine recommendations and knowledge of the all the diff regions and grapes. While the broccoli appetizer was a bit embarrassing (it was soggy and looked the bad kind of home made), my vegan aubergine miso main course was phenomenal. Thank you for making a vegan entree that isn't boring and lame. Now, was tempted

I wish New York had pre-theater options like this one because it's just that good. Not only is it reasonably priced, but the flavors, presentation and preparation are spot on. The rump steak was a perfect medium rare with a lovely seat and the peppercorn sauce was so rich and flavorful, each bite was wonderful but also saddening because it meant there was less of it afterwards.
The first courses as well, both the gazpacho and the risotto, couldn't have been better opening dishes. Both eclectic yet light. The gazpacho is so good you'll drink it straight from the bowl. In and out

Simply amazing. While I did experience a bit of confusion on arrival (they misunderstood my desire to sit at the ground floor bar), all was remedied with their outstanding service and stellar food.
It's easy to see why this place is on every 'Best of' list. The plates are carefully crafted and cooked to perfection. The drinks and desserts are right up there too.
I'd recommend the Apple-a-Day cocktail and one of their aged steaks. They really hit the spot and made for a very satisfied evening.
If you have room, also be sure to try the peanut butter parfeit. It was heavenly

Social Eating House is trending for a reason. Every dish is perfectly seasoned and prepared, and the wine selection is lovely. (Shout out to the sommelier for choosing an amazing Aussie wine for us!)
I'd highly recommend booking in advance, as tables are usually filled most evenings. There are options for a sample menu, as well as a la carte. I'd recommend going with the sample menu if you want the chef's top picks, but otherwise the a la carte menu has plenty of variety. Vegetarian diets are easily catered to as well.

Social Eating House is boringgggg. We may be jaded New Yorkers, but the food was very 2015 (mason jars with foie gras, bee pollen, edison bulbs, etc...) I am surprised how highly recommended this restaurant is. The waitstaff is attentive, but not very lively. The booking staff is another story...
I made a reservation a month in advance via OpenTable. I accidentally cancelled the reservation and immediately picked up the phone to let them know that I still intended to come for my reserved time. Hostess pick up the phone 30 seconds later and informed me that my reservation was gone. This is a popular

Had a reservation at 9:30 but our table wasn't ready so they had us go up to the bar for some drinks. We sat down and looked at the drink menu, it was really creative, they have themed drinks like "shire brew" (if I recall correctly) based off of LOTR and many others. After waiting 45 minutes we finally sat down. I'm not sure if it's because we looked young (me and my party of 3 were in our mid to late 20s) or if it was because they were basically almost closed by the time we finished our meal, but the waiting staff was not very attentive to us at all. We ordered our food

Wonderful experience at the chef's counter!
My favorites were scallop and foie gras, also barley in the turbot dish.
Overall, a bit too much and heavy, but you know what you are signing up for :)
It was very interesting to watch how a kitchen of this quality and scale operates.
And the service was excellent!

Good food. Exactly what you would expect from a Michelin star restaurant.
Minus one star for the hostess who stepped in front of me and grabbed my arm to stop me from entering the restaurant as I was following my group. I think a simple "excuse me" would have done just fine to understand if I was a patron or not. Maybe they have had problems with street wanderers?
Table service was good and the food came out timely and perfect. Must have the mac and cheese side!

Delicious and very innovative menu. Service was great, if a little aloof at times. Because the food was so fantastic, I will forgive them for an occasional moment of snootiness!
Wonderful scallops with heat and crispy veggies, an aged steak with a sublime peppercorn sauce, duck fat fries-OMG good, a killer black treacle pork chop, and one of the finest apricot Bakewell tart with tonka ice cream potentially in the world!
Absolutely brilliant food! Great cocktails and solid wine list.

We had a group of 6 with various dietary restrictions and all had a great meal here. The space is on the louder side and service wasn't perfect, but we left happy and stuffed.
They have a separate menu for vegetarians but you need to ask for it. Don't hesitate to flag someone down - it took quite a while for us to order as we couldn't get a waiter to stop by our table.
Cocktails are excellent and creative - be sure to indulge. Food was creative and beautifully plated. The truffles were generously portioned, which I always appreciate. And while you won't need sides, there

What a disappointment.
We arrived on time for lunch at 1:15pm and were told our table wasn't available (we later discovered that in fact it was). We were ushered to the empty 1st floor bar and waited and waited until checking with the front desk eventually resulted in us being seated.
The daily menu posted outside the restaurant was different from what was on offer inside the restaurant. Specifically the prix fixe two course lunch menu option wasn't available. This was a disappointment was none of us wanted desert which we had to pay for with the three course prix fixe option.

One of the best meals I've had in a long time, start to finish. Perfect New Zealand Sauv Blanc, Beed Tartare with beets and the perfect amount of crunch on top.
