Dear owner/manager,
Your restaurant was very well recommended on the internet, has a beautiful website and good reviews. Among several restaurants, I chose you to take 2 very special friends for dinner. We came from south London (1 hour and a half to arrive).
What was our surprise when we arrived there, saw 2 empty tables, and a man from the staff (or owner, I don’t know), looked at us, rudely said you were full and turned his back on us. We were not there asking for a favour or begging anything, we are Costumers!
Well, all businesses are made of people! You sell people not just food (otherwise

Osteria Basilico came highly recommended from a friend and as my two friends and I were starving we decided to give it a try! When first arriving to the restaurant we were kindly greeted by a waiter. He informed us that due to covid and keeping a safe distance between tables, he is unable to seat us inside but would be able to seat us outside. We were very happy with the fact that the restaurant was taking the necessary measures to protect its customers from covid. We happily agreed to sit outside. We started our dinner with a Bruschetta al Pomodoro fresco e Basilico which was done and presented

A true discovery: authentic Italian dishes of exceptional quality, friendly and attentive service. Fair prices considering the quality of the food and generous portion sizes. Cozy interior, ideal for couples and small groups.
I can recommend both the spinach-filled tortelloni and "Pizza Burrata e Salami".

Sat for hours in a basement crowded with candles, fireplaces, flowers, and wooden tables creaking with delicious food and eager eaters. The focaccia is served warm…the portions generous…and the panacotta in possession of the perfect melt in your mouth texture.
Thank you for letting me luxuriate in my meal.

100% would recommend. The food is amazing and well priced. We had a big plate of pasta vongole for £17 and a capricciosa pizza for £14.5. For dessert, we had the homemade panna cotta (£6.5), which was spectacular. In proportion, the most expensive part is the wine, but if you share the 500mL carafe is good.
The service was lovely and very attentive, and the restaurant is very cozy.
We will definitely be coming back!!

Fully booked apparently... but there was no one in the restaurant, must be lockdown syndrome or something. Don't waste your time plenty of better options who actually appreciate customers.

Had the Tagliolini al Ragout di Manzo and it was amazing.. one of the best pastas I've had. Very authentic, friendly staff, and cozy atmosphere. My friend tried the truffle pasta and had same experience. Highly recommend.

Not a common occurrence but had terrible experience this evening. Waited for over 20 mins and no waiter approached to ask for water or leave menu. Then got an apology and had to wait another 15 mins still No one came to get order. Left without eating.

If it gets too busy on the streets of Portobello market, you can always hide in the lower section of the restaurant - extremely cozy place! The pizza and pasta aren't gluten free but other dishes can be altered to become gluten free (meat and fish options with very nice sides).
If you're in luck, they will have a courgette soup as soup of the day. Don't miss it, as the chef knows what he is doing and it is extremely flavourful, one of the best soups on earth.

My goodness. My family and I arrived without a booking and we were so lucky that they were able to accommodate us!

The food was MAG-NI-FI-CENT.

For our Starter, we ordered the deep fried squid. It was exceptional! Then came the bread. They were these perfectly little pillowy squares of joy. I simply couldn't get enough of them. Admittedly, I was skeptical about my entrée as I don't eat Italian food very much. I ordered the Tagliolini al Ragout di Manzo. Naively, I thought it was going to be a basic spaghetti and meat sauce. For that I am ashamed. I was served the best meal that I

Had a horrible experience here Friday night. Had told my friend from out of town about this place and popped in 6.30/7pm to ask about a reservation for that night or another. A man (little with glasses) - I can only assume the owner - was extremely rude. We didn't even get the chance to talk. He shouted at us from across the entire restaurant, refusing to look at us, then just walked away and started talking to his staff mid my question. Bizarre, rude, arrogant behavior. I was embarrassed I had ever suggested the place to my friend. Will definitely be avoiding in future.

Update: just read

I loved my server, I forget his name but he had so much energy and was very funny. He made the whole experience very enjoyable. The pizza we ordered was jut OK but I loved the pasta. They also gave us some limoncello and biscotti for dessert. Great spot for a date night!

Was walking past Portobello Road when I spotted this restaurant on a Saturday afternoon. I knew it had to be good since there was a line coming out the door and the upstairs was completely packed. They seated me and my sister downstairs, right next to a rustic wine cellar. I didn't mind it at all, it was less noisy even though it was just as packed. We had the Pizza Margherita and Tagliolini al Ragout di Manzo. Both were great, but hands down the highlight of our meal was the house-made pasta!

Make sure to get reservation and get a seat upstairs. The downstairs is a little crowded and stuffy. I had dinner with three other people and was a little bit disappointed with the timing of the food. My dish came out about 10 minutes ahead of the others..and not wanting to be rude, I didn't want to begin eating until everyone had their plates. My food ended up being lukecold, but still quite delicious. I ordered the Mezze Maniche con Melanzane, Pomodoro e Mozzarella (Pasta Tubes with Aubergines, Mozzarella Cheese, Basil, and Tomato Sauce) , which is 12.50 euros - not bad at all!!

Make sure

Lovely little place in Notting Hill. The staff took care of us despite being a handful of typical Americans... haha. We tried a lot of different things and everything was very tasty. We sat on the ground floor which was really nice because there are large open windows so it feels like you're outside.

The sea bass filet was very delicious- almost silky, and the tortellini with spinach and ricotta was definitely creamy and luxurious. Yes I just called pasta luxurious.

I decided to come here grudgingly as it is across the road from my favourite restaurant. However I was best pleased with the outcome. Albeit the prices are expensive it sets the scene for a more intimate/romantic destination. This is definitely a good place for an fun night as part of a planned out evening.

The wine is more expensive but they have quite a vast selection which is always nice. My favourite part is the amazing chicken salad (effectively a Caesar salad) which was quite perfect and then the beautifully presented veal escalope which I think is always a safe choice.

I would definitely

Nice little restaurant. We were there today around 6:45pm and it wasnt really crowned. It seems that there were a lot of reservations but luckily we got a seat without one. I wont say the people are really welcoming tho. And because it is such a small place it was a bit squeezing.

The buffet starter was nice. Pay less and can try a lot of different things. Love the mix salad. I ordered the spaghetti with clams and it was delicious.

Main courses are actually okay but the starter and drinks were a bit expensive. Two of us spent 75.25 but it was a nice experience. :)

If you love real Italian food, this is the place for you. The resto is cozy downstairs and trendy upstairs if a bit noisy.

Try the Aubergine for starter and the tortellini with ricotta for a main dish. You must stop after each bite to contemplate how delicious the food is.

The bread was outstanding and is a meal in itself with good quality olive oil for dipping. The spaghetti with clams was first rate. We finished with good coffee and raspberry cheesecake which was light and creamy.

Authentic Italian in charming Notting Hill. Be surprised with the portion sizes they are very satisfying.

Value for money - yes.
Service with a smile - by every staff member
Authentic Taste - belissimo Italiano.
Would I eat here again - in a micro second.

The pizza and pasta was fresh, well prepared and tasted as traditional Italian as the decor and staff who wait the floor.

Great service, romantic and cosy it's a great place for those who want an up beat dining experience with flavour and flare to boot.

A lovely lunch experience.

Yum yum yum!!! Another spot where I have no clue why I never tried it until recently even though I live so close. The people here are so friendly they went around talking to everyone at each table. We came for lunch and it was packed. From what I could overhear from people trying to get bookings, dinner reservations are much harder to come by.
We tried pizza and pasta and both were scrumptious! We can't wait to come back again and try out more of their dishes.
