In the heart of Covent Garden, Le Garrick is renowned for its excellent, regional French food, friendly service and warm atmosphere. We are about to celebrate our 35th anniversary. We're delighted to be open and looking forward to the next chapter in this much-loved restaurant's history. We are proud to say that we have served our last drink with a plastic straw!
From today we are only using recyclable straws made from bamboo and we are urging everyone to support the #laststraw campaign. Le Garrick has a wonderful 33 year history and is regarded as a Covent Garden institution. It's popular with the theatre crowd and locals as well being listed in the 'top romantic restaurants' in London every year - let's just say we've had our fair share of proposals here!

The restaurant is very small and tightly packed. In this time of covid, I found the next table inches away from us uncomfortable. A large noisy group of people were seated next to us, making it difficult to talk. Even though other tables were empty staff pushed everybody into the same area. The portions of food was small and I felt other restaurants in the area offered better value for money.

Me and my partner came here looking for an authentic fondue but we actually got a very small came Bert cheese. It only came with bread which wasn't too fresh nor crispy. We had to order extra side dishes to dip in. The cheese got cold quite quickly too. The service was okay, the overall atmosphere was cosy.

The food was great and the waiting staff were friendly and very helpful. It has an authentic Paris feel. I even asked if they’d explain some of the dishes in English and they didn’t mind at all, they were also very knowledgeable about what was on the menu. Calamari was fantastic!
Loses a star because foie gras was an option as a starter. For others, it may be no issue.
Would highly recommend. Thank you!

Wanted this place to be so good based on the reviews and it was just OK. When you are in London and have the opportunity to try various gourmet restaurants without the price tag, having a so so meal is disappointing!!!
The Pate was one of the worst I have ever tried in my life. The muscles were OK but nothing flavorful and the soup was bland and tasted mostly like a creamy broth. Salmon was nothing major and was just a meal. We didn't have drinks so I can't comment on it...
Will try other restaurants in the area next...

I came here for dinner after taking my mum shopping nearby. My mum's really hard to please so I had my fingers crossed because Le Garrick has been around forever and it reminds me of my favourite bistro in Paris.
We ordered a salmon fillet with ratatouille, and a duck confit with minted beans. Both were delicious. Cooked perfectly, with just a little bit of twist to make it magical. Wine pairings were great. Our waiter was really friendly and patient with us. We were both grateful to have had such a wonderful meal after walking around central all afternoon on a hot summer's day.

We came here pre-theater with plenty of time to spare but we were seated on the street level which is not as intimate as the lower level nor as large. While others have noted the décor is nice and old-fashioned, the upstairs gave you the feeling of not being near anything except the hustle and bustle of the street. The waiters were French and spoke perfect English with their French accents, and the service was just fine, they were quite friendly too.
The food was rather uninspiring. The French onion soup was a dish any self-respecting French chef would have been embarrassed to serve. The

And ideal date night setting with candlelit ambiance. Food was generally good, but I was not expecting my duck breast to be overcooked at an above average rated French bistro. Our waiter was a disaster ..think we would have been better off without his service. Hope it's not a reflection of the rest of the staff. Manager was accommodating and checked in on us when he noticed something was off. 3.5 stars upgraded to a 4 considering ambiance and general nature of food. Also, for having more than one duck choice on the menu compared to others!

Great experience. First off the staff is awesome. Everyone from the bartenders to the servers really did a great job.
We sat downstairs in one of the coves and it was very cool. It is a little tight in there but still cool.
The food was all very good. I ordered the steak. The french fries were especially good. The wine was also spot on but it is expected at a french place.
Definitely a cool place. I would recommend

Don't let the teeny tiny ground floor fool you - the basement is much larger and has alot of tables squished in, giving it a very intimate feel. The service was really great; we had great attention and very prompt, in keeping with our pre-theatre schedule.
The food was really nice and the husband said his mussels were probably some of the best he's ever had.
It's a great place for a pre-theatre dinner.

Candle-lit restaurants with that old-fashioned smoky, sexy kind of charm have always appealed to me. They beckon and entice me in. I relax more in a restaurant that doesn't have glary lights; I feel myself kicking back and genuinely glowing, in the glow of it all!
Le Garrick is one of those. Been there forever, and forever I have heard it calling to me, but never slowed down long enough to listen. Until recently that is, when my friend and I were in Covent Garden, craving somewhere charming, cosy and French. 'Oh, that'll be Le Garrick', and off we went.

Unpretentious little gem that serves decent French food without fuss in the heart of theatreland.
It might be easier to write a list of things the Gartick isn't: not posh, not a chain, not swanky, not expensive (assuming you can afford a theatre ticket), not full of drunk hedge fund managers.
But that would do it a disservice. Le Garrick is really pleasant find, serving perfectly decent French food in the friendly but still slightly aloof manner that the French seem to have mastered.
The salads are simple, the Onglet steak very nice with skinny French fries (of course). Not foodie fare,

Marion, such a lovely host who greeted us at the door before we even entered and made our dinner experience more homely and friendly than we could have imagined it to be. In the hustle and bustle of Covent Garden it's hard to believe that a gem like this exist- a beautiful French restaurant with 30 years of history.
We were seated upstairs which itself was beautiful, dark and romantic, containing less than 10 tables which made it very cosy to be in. But when we return we must remember to request for a seat downstairs as it was another world down there, discovering it as I was making my way

Welcome to London my parents! To celebrate them being here, we decided to go see a show, very traditional middle class way of entertaining parents isn't it? Of course the problem with this is you have to find somewhere early to eat that serves quickly enough. Now I know what you're thinking, why not have something to eat after the show? Ingenious, but then of course that assumes that my mum isn't complaining about how her feet hurt and she's tired.
So, thinking ahead, I booked a nice looking French restaurant in covent garden near to the theatre. Mum is of course picky and
