Beautiful decor, lovely food beautifully presented and great service! Poppodom tray was a pretty, tasty way to start. Only thing that didn't impress were the non alcoholic beverages, hence 4 stars.

Amazing food, best Indian food I've ever had. We went to dinner here for Christmas day,, and had a great time. All of the dishes we had were perfect, except for my duck which was a tad bit overcooked. Everything else was amazing and the service was very good. Would definitely come back.

We have been here for a family dinner. Service was great. And from every single dishes, you can see, feel and taste how much thoughts chefs have put into each dish. Cozy place. I highly recommend it.
Butter chicken, vegetable biryani and vegetables Sambosa is a must.

I have come twice for private dining for family celebrations. It’s always been incredible. Food is one of the best for Indian food in London. And the service is incredible. I would recommend this private dining set up if you coming with very young children. We were served by the GMs son, for someone who is very young gave outstanding service.
Overall it’s not baby friendly within the main restaurant no changing facilities and high chair etc.

Chutney Mary is phenomenal! We had the butter chicken main dish with butter naan and chili cheese naan. For the appetizer, we did the Jaipur lamb and afghani chicken tikka. The lamb and chicken were so tender, with excellent taste profile. Cooked perfectly. The butter chicken was very high quality - it was great, but we could use a bit more flavor. The chili cheese naan was much preferred to the regular butter naan. To finish, we had gold gulab jamun with vanilla ice cream, and it was absolutely perfect (coming from gulab jamun enthusiasts lol). The service and decor are high end and 5 star. Chicken

Lovely set menus. Their Kulfis has a unique nutty taste - must try. Their chocolate bomb is popular too

Very well presented, but needs some attention to details and replacing old and worn items. The staff are very friendly from the moment you walk in. The menue has good variety for vegetarian and none vegetarian food. Some items on the menue is Halal ( look for the H letter). Food was great but some dishes were extra spicy. Over all great experiences. With a high price tag the place was packed on a Wednesday.

Traveled to London from the US with my sisters. Walked to this restaurant because it was recommended by the front desk at my hotel (Trafalgar ST James) we entered a half empty bar area and we're turned away, not serves at all. Very disappointed in the lack of customer care demonstrates by the staff. Terribly unfortunate.

The restaurant has a lovely ambience. Although the dress code is strictly smart casual, I am not sure how enforced it is as I saw a man in shorts and slippers dining two tables away.
The fine dining Indian food cooked here is prepped well and tastes fine. If you are looking for a good food with a refined dining experience, it will not disappoint. As far as looking for Indian cuisine pushed to its highest levels of sublime taste and tantalising the senses, it never reaches those heights so that is why it is just okay for me. Let's just say it is fine dining at its average.

Recomendation from a friend and Truly the best Indian food I've ever had!
After a long day visiting London Christmas lights and markets we were starving and couldn't wait to dig in. They brought there version of a crudites tray and the entree choices were varied but I settled on the Lamb Chapli. It was filled with tender lamb and a curry sauce that was so delicious I can't even describe it
The serving staff were friendly, attentive, and just the right amount of presence. If you can make this your stop for late lunch or dinner don't miss it!

One of the best Indian restaurants in London. I dined at Chutney Mary multiple times and they all exceeded my expectations. The food more than make up for the poor service. Highly recommend this place if you want good Indian food but don't expect too much from the wait staff.

I'm surprised I hadn't done a review here yet. Chutney Mary is my go-to Indian restaurant in London. Right off of Pall Mall and down the street from the exclusive White's, you can count on the restaurant to be very under the radar as it attracts politicians and academics alike. My favorite is the Butter Chicken and the Grilled Paneer (pending in season it is topped with a quince like fruit) also this time they added dried nori which isn't usually the case... so yum! Full high shelf bar with great drinks. I love this place - It never disappoints. PS Not one Indian restaurant

Seriously - what a crap place
One kid w nut allergy not cross contamination sensitive just can't actually eat one
Was told and shown a list that showed ALL dishes contained peanuts - seriously even the sorbet ????
If you can't manage a kitchen or understand food allergies and importantly be able to discern between eating and cross contamination you should quit
Don't eat here they don't have any control over the kitchen

Wow wow wow wow. This is part of the same chain that Amaya and Veerasamy belong to. They're known for their take on seafood.

Firstly, service was awesome and attentive. Coat check on arrival. Quick refills on water and cocktails. Generous wine pours. Attentive pacing on food items based off our consumption. The works.

Secondly, cocktails were good, albeit all a touch sweeter than I'd prefer. We got their saffron gin martini, margarita, hot toddy and their gin iced tea. All were presented beautifully but just a little sweeter than I prefer. We moved to wine for our next round of drinks

From the first bite until the very last morsel of food left on my plate -- I was impressed. I came here with my mom & brother during our week stay here in London and the three of us agreed: Chutney Mary makes superb Indian food.

The vibes and overall design of this restaurant are exactly what you want it to be - cool, calm, and very chic. Go here. This is the restaurant I'd recommend to a friend and even my friends parents. Absolutely delicious.

Although it may sound like a type of Indian pickle, Chutney Mary is one of London's favorite upscale settings for South Asian food. It's known for being contemporary and cutting edge, all this panache being congruous to its glossy St James address.

I came here with a group of 20 for a set menu dinner. As far as the food went, it was not fiercely spiced and had good flavoring. The 4 mini-pot serving dish consisted of: Mangalore Prawn, Butter Chicken, Lamb, and Spinach Lasooni Palak, giving you a teaser of everything. The starter was a prawn meets chicken dish. The dessert was...not memorable

One of the place we'll return to when visiting London again. Partner had the lamb shank - nalli gosht - and stated it was the best he's ever had and he loves ordering lamb shank everywhere he sees it on a menu. Prawn curry was delish as well as the apps. As far as high end Indian food goes, this is a winner. We liked it more than Rasika in DC.

Chutney Mary was a recommendation we had gotten for our recent trip to London, and since we haven't eaten as much Indian as I would have liked in our past trips here, we decided to stop by for a Christmas Eve lunch. We were the first folks in when we came shortly after noon, and even by the time we had left 1.5 hours later, the main dining room had a handful of tables filled at most, with a few more parties out in the more casual setting out front. What I really liked is how the decor fused Indian sensibilities, particularly the bright colors, with a very modern, cosmopolitan sense of dining

Hi end Indian cuisine in a modern surrounding. A little overpriced and small portions but the food is excellent and full of flavour. Staff were a little snooty on the phone and in person. Had a reservation and showed up on time but needed to wait a bit for the table. We all enjoyed the food, but I must say that I prefer the more hole in the wall kind of Indian places.

Samosas were scrumptious as was the calamari. Curried potato was fabulous and the chicken curry was full of amazing spices. The fish tandoori was delicious too.

So amazing. So worth the price. The restaurant is gorgeous, the staff is knowledgeable, efficient and very helpful. The cocktails are unusual and very tasty. The food is the real star of the show. The food is remarkable, truly remarkable. The venison samosas were an explosion of flavor from the first bite. Spicy and flavorful and the sauces just added to the intensity. I had a lamb dish that was fall off the bone tender. The flavor was so incredible, we used our naan to clean the bowl. The butter chicken was every bit as good. We had easily the best Indian food of my life. I was left with the warm

We were originally planning to go to Dishoom; but, we were running a little late and didn't want to wait in the long line so we opted for Chutney Mary around the corner from our office. I was really glad that we did. I've had my share of good Indian food in London and Chutney Mary is at the top of the list.

It is a sister restaurant of another favorite of mine, Veeraswamy. The Indian food in the U.K. is much more sophisticated than what we are used to in the States; not every Indian place has a buffet and is cheap. The cooking style at Chutney Mary is very sophisticated. The ambiance

A wonderful, beautifully decorated, inviting, friendly, yet upscale Indian restaurant. Reservations are necessary, even in the tables in the main entrance room with the bar. I had a vegetarian thali that was just so well-balanced and spiced, though it used more Western ingredients: couscous, broccoli, stuffed peppers, yet carefully marinated in Indian spices, carefully displayed. I'd love to come back for some of the meat dishes which looked incredible. I do think the spice level's been scaled back a bit.

The cocktails here were also nicely crafted. I quite enjoyed my Rangpur Gimlet
