The Porchester
A traditional yet modern British pub in the heart of Bayswater. An ideal destination for a lunch with colleagues, a special dinner with loved ones or a cocktail session with friends. We also serve, on Sundays, an outstanding British roast, labelled the best in West London. We're extremely proud of our menu and select only the highest quality of British ingredients with each season.

We offer fantastic daily specials, showcasing the best of traditional British cuisine, pub classics and modern twists on old favourites. We have a wonderful array of lagers, a supply of ever-changing real ales, wines, spirits with more than 26 gins and 8 styles of tonic water. We're confident you'll find something to suit.
Services
We have a variety of areas throughout our pub that are perfect for celebrations. WIth table service throughout and a menu tailored to you needs; we are confident we'll be able to accommodate you and your guests every need. We are ideally located centrally in Bayswater between Queensway, Notting Hill and Paddington.
That long-overdue Sunday roast that we've all been waiting for. Start off with one of our legendary Bloody Mary's followed by the main event - The best of British cut meat, crispy goose fat potatoes (veggie options available too) and the fluffiest of Yorkshire Puddings, all topped with mouth-watering gravy, you'll find our scrumptious roasts are hard to beat.

Popped in for a drink whilst waiting to go to nearby restaurant. The service from bar guy was great, he suggested a different tonic with the gin, and was superb. What a great pub, and the bar man is a star!

I have visited this pub a few times with my girls and love it! It’s a cool place to unwind and catch up over a few glasses of wine. Plus they have a guy there named Angel who looks like Johnny Depp who is very cool! He always has the best stories to tell and makes our night even better! Thanks Angel! :-)

I just had the best experience here, mainly due to the FANTASTIC service by Angel. I can't stress this enough, he has been accommodating, entrataining, funny but not intrusive. Will definitely be back soon.

Food is not bad, and there's a passable selection of beers on tap (though don't expect anything out of the ordinary). Lots of tables and a small beer garden out the back, plus a weekly pub quiz.

Beautiful pub, one of my all time favourites.
This place holds a special place in our heart, it's where I met my wife of 21 years, back in 2000. It was called The Royal Oak then. It's changed, but definitely for the better. We will be back with our 2 boys very soon. Thank you for your wonderful hospitality, Angel is a fantastic host.

What makes this pub different from all the other ones in the area is the food. Fresh ingrediants and a passionate Chef!!!! From the hummus to the Sunday roast (excellent) all dishes are good!!!! Service is very friendly, there is a garden in the back, nice in the summer and they also have plenty of board games if that's your thing!!!!!
Bon appetite!!!!

Great hearty food and such a generous serving size! Really good value for money as well as being a super tasty meal. The veggies were cooked to perfection and so fresh, I had the pork roast and it was amazing, juicy meat and crispy crackling. Great service from all the guys there too, I would definitely recommend!

This place was really nice. I loved the option to swap books and play board games while you waited and ate. It was a great environment for bonding. The service was great and food was good. There were also several vegan and vegetarian options. Bathroom was clean. I didn't like the fish and chips a lot, but that may have just been me.

Great local with a brilliant Sunday roast. Staff are also very friendly which seems to be a rarity these days. Will definitely come back! The only reason for not giving it 5 stars is because it has a slight cafeteria feel rather than a pub.

Unfortunately I'm unable to provide a true review. When we walked in, we sat at the table for 15 minutes without anyone greeting us. No big deal, I would just walk up to the bar and order my food there. I guess 4:00 PM is an unusual time to order food. You see, the kitchen was closed.

If you're hungry, just keep walking. You won't find any food here.

Great local bar for a catch up with friends. The new decor is much brighter and offers good seatings. Very busy on friday evenings, especially when they broadcast the bigger matches. The menu is not very extended but probably anyone can find something to their taste.

So having recently moved to London, I quickly wanted to establish which was "my local pub"... Because I hear that's what the English do and I wanted to fit in ;) The Porchester is my pub. Granted, it's more like a gastropub, rather than a traditional "old man's" pub, but that's part of the appeal. Nice interior, good ambiance, excellent live music on Wednesdays, and pub quiz nights on Thursdays (with only a £1 buy in!). Food's pretty good too, service not always great, but you can always go up to the bar to order.

This is a nice pub in Bayswater. I think it's lost a lot of its traditional pub charm since its recent remodel, but it's still a good hangout spot. The remodel resulted in a modern-looking place - less pub and more millennial hipster bar. So far it seems to be working, as the average customer age is younger lately. The pub has a reasonably good selection of wine and drinks, though I can't vouch for the menu. Overall, I recommend it.

We just returned from a fabulous dinner at The Porchester. The service was excellent -- attentive, charming, not overly chatty -- as was the food. My sisters had the bangers and mash, and I had the gnocchi. My sisters finished with deserts that were delicious. The atmosphere is quiet and lovely. This is not a loud bar like some pubs, which is what we were seeking.

Nice bright Youngs pub that is laid back and friendly, with a selection of board games, and a good lunch menu. Unfortunately the pulled pork wasn't ready, so I had a pint with a Brompton burger. This was a cut above your average burger, with delicious chargrilled patty and all the trimmings, and crispy chunk chips. Busy but not crowded, I would love to have this as my local.

Tasteless burger & chips. Crappy nachos.

Nothing particularly great about this pub.... aside from having my beloved Erdinger on tap, which gives it an extra star.

Still, I wouldn't go back for the food.

This has been one of my local pubs (for work) for the past 3 years. Apparently it had quite a massive overhaul before I went there for the first time and left a bit of a bitter taste in some peoples mouths as the price of beer went up quite considerably.

However, as I never knew those 'cheaper' times, I am not tarred with sentiment and actually quite like the place! It has a good atmosphere, mainly working professionals but not too many of the suited types, and has a good selection of beers from far away lands that make it sound like you are using baby language when ordering a round

Old school 1920s spa, claims to be London's oldest. Really enjoyed my day there although it might be a little 'authentic' for some tastes.
